Mage PvP/Arena Video Guide with a funny twist!

Every once in a while, you'll find that you stumble upon something really awesome. A gem of it's class, so to speak. This morning was one of those moments where I was looking for something interesting and compelling to bring out into the spotlight and happened to see that FuF had uploaded a video to our Video Gallery with a different kind of title.

You see, normally, PvP videos are often a compendium of edited clips showing off big numbers and "leet skill" with some music tossed onto it with names such as "Annihilator Maximus" or "Epeen McJinglebutt's PvP Ownage". This case however, was the exact opposite; the video that for some reason drew my attention was named "I suck at PvP". I was sold and decided to take the time to see what this was all about.

After watching the video, one thing was clear. Featuring not just video footage of big numbers and mass killing blows, Evertras has cleverly put a lot of work into this video -- making it more of a "How to PvP" with a great humorous twist. I love the way he emphasizes how to pay attention to what your opponent is doing and playing accordingly; such as the clips where he explains warrior reflect and how to deal with it, or the multiple times he shows off how to manage cool downs and using that to plan ahead.

The video also comes with voice-over commentary explaining in detail the why and how he pulls off his accomplishments, giving us - the audience - a firm grasp on what he wants us to be paying attention to. Between all of this comes the multiple humorous twists so perfectly blended in to give us a varied and entertaining viewing experience.

The bottom line is; While Evertras may not be the highest profile or renowned mage in World of Warcraft, he certainly does a fantastic job at showing aspiring mages how to improve their performance in PvP, Duels or Arenas. As a final word, I am going to quote Evertras and say: "The most important part is to never give up!".

Horde 60-70 Leveling Guide

The Burning Crusade Guides page has been updated with an excellent in-game Horde leveling guide, created by Nightfall of the US realm Darkspear. The guide can be found on the Burning Crusade Horde Leveling Guide page. Included are example screenshots of what each map looks like with the MapNotes overlay, displaying locations for each Horde quest. Head over to the page and check it out!

To take advantage of this guide, you must use the MapNotes AddOn - instructions for obtaining and installing everything needed for the guide are included in the guide page.

Gruul the Dragonkiller and Hydross the Unstable guides!

The Burning Crusade Guides section has been updated with raid guides for Gruul the Dragonkiller, found in Gruul's Lair, and Hydross the Unstable, found in Serpentshrine Cavern.

Also of note, the guide pages now all have a menu at the top of the page, allowing you to go back to any of the pages which lead to the page you're currently browsing.

Alliance Burning Crusade Guides Update

Today's update of the Burning Crusade Guides section sees the release of two new outdoor zone guides for Alliance faction players: Nagrand, and Netherstorm. Take a look - the expansion's release is upon us and knowledge is power on the path to 70!

The final two guides for Alliance faction players - Blade's Edge Mountains and Shadowmoon Valley - should be released some time tomorrow.

Alliance Burning Crusade Guides Updated!

The Alliance section of the Burning Crusade Guides page has been updated. Two new guides are available for the zones Zangarmarsh and Terokkar Forest.

Keep an eye out tomorrow, as more guides will be released!

It's important to note that while these guides only cover the Alliance side of things, there are indeed Horde guides of similar quality in the process of being created.

Announcing The Burning Crusade Guides

In preparation for the launch of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, Curse will be adding information guides on the zones of Outland. The first installment is the initial zone you'll enter upon embarking on your journey into the expansion: Hellfire Peninsula. Follow the link to read about some of the pre-Outland preparations you'll want to make, as well as general information on the Alliance outposts, quest hubs, profession trainers, and other various tidbits of information that will no doubt help make your life in Outland easier.

Also, keep an eye on the Burning Crusade Guides page, as over the next week more guides will be added!
