Personally? I don't think so. Our guild split a couple of months before the expansion. It's wasn't the only reason for it, but it was one of the contributing factors. I presonally think it was for the best, being at the time, we just didn't have enough spots to get everybody into the BWL/MC/Ony runs.

Friction was occuring because some were feeling excluded, so we gathered those of us who were close (and the better players we believed) and set out to set ourselves up for the upcoming 25-man raids.

I think the expansion gave the opportunity to alot of guilds to reorganise their rosters and maybe weed out some players that weren't quite working out.

Before TBC there were 7 Alliance guilds who were in AQ40 or beyond. Now its down to 3 guilds doing 25 man content and getting bosses down!(Only 6 guilds on the server attempting 25 man content) Only 2 (out of 6) of these guilds were about at level 60. The guild that i'm an officer for now was made because of guilds hindering their own progress and trying to send people into 10 and 25 man content before they had geared up. But with only 3 guilds (1 Horde 2 Alliance) on the entire server who have killed High King Maulgar I'd say its broken a lot of guilds!

You now need a guild with less than 40 raid members rather than before the TBC you needed about 80+ to guarantee 40 man raids!

Also the way things are now you needed 3 raid leaders maybe 4 for raiding guild where as before you only needed 1 maybe 2. I've found that finding people willing to lead a raid is hard because you have to know the in's and out's of a fight before you even attempt it and people just cant be bothered to put the effort in.

Its all become much more reliant on other people now as well! We have a guild of 37 people atm we have 15 herbalists and 6 alchemists (2 for each mastery). Where as before you didnt need to load up on Flasks etc to get bosses down.

P.S. WOOO! High King Maulgar down after 4 wipes on our first ever 25 man raid!!!

Currently running 2 Karazhan groups at the same time, which I happen to lead 1 and making good progress. We'll be starting Gruul's very soon, so we should be ok, although a bit late.

I only reached the lvl 60 cap a few months before TBC came out so my raid knowledge was pretty limited. I joined a guild that were doing ZG and starting AQ20. Perfect for me. When the expansion came out i had most of my Teir 0.5 gear and no real epics to write home about. We hadnt finished ZG yet and had only managed the first boss in AQ20.

Needless to say i wasnt that highly ranked in the guild. Since TBC has been released things changed alot. I was 3rd in the guild to reach 70 and the first 2 left to go to a more progressed guild. I got revered with HH, CE and KoT first. I got the key to SH first, i got Sl key first and i got Arcatraz key first. i was attuned for karazhan 2 weeks before anyone else.

I am not blowing my own horn because there were alot of players on the server that were alot further than i was. Now we finally have about 11 people that are attuned to Kara ( through my nagging most of em). We struggle to take the first boss let alone the others.

There are only a few people that are revered so sunning heroic instances is tough. I have only done ramparts once and that was with a pug.

Now i really like the people in the guild and my rank is pretty high now. i am second in command in raids but i feel like they are holding me back. I really dont want to leave but i want to progress.

What is the answer?

P.S Sorry about the lengthly post but i am really stuck

I think one of the major reasons was the release of TBC. Some weeks before the release, people started leaving the guild to play/level with IRL friends or some even quit playing. So the raid activity dropped alot! We were currently doing BWL.
Few weeks after the release, the first guild members who reach L.70 alreadt started to get bored. Little by little they kept leaving to join other guilds who already started raiding Karazhan. Eventually we decided to disband the guild.
I do miss the 40 man raid nights...

There is a l33t group that only runs with one another (they are all officers) and then everyone else. There are about 150 accts in the guild and 30 of them are officers. Now, this is a problem not with the BC. The problem is BC simply showed the problems already within the guild to those of us that hadn't seen them before.
