About Movecraft

Movecraft

A Brief Description

Movecraft is a plugin that has been designed to give purpose to those extremely large (and awesome) oceans as well as to simply give the option to Sail, Drive, or Pilot amazing Ships, Creations, or Zeppelins. It allows the player and/or players to craft Vessels out of blocks that can be piloted and thus moved. Hence the name MoveCraft.

Credit

Movecraft was first created by Yogoda for hMod.
Movecraft 3 is a complete recode. It's only similarity to the Movecraft of Yogada is it's name.

Also the builds on that site are more up to date than the builds on this site, so download the latest version there. Please be aware the builds on that site have not been checked by the dev.bukkit.org staff, so use at your own risk.

Here is a brief summary of Movecraft features covered on that site:

Control Method Options

  1. Sign and Pilot Tool
  2. Sign only
  3. Direct Control (the players movements control the craft)
  4. Misc Commands - /manoverboard, /release, etc
  5. Remote Signs to remotely activate command signs from other parts of the ship (Turn turrets, launch torpedoes, etc)

Craft Options

  1. Basic craft configuration options including size, speed, allowed block types, required blocks, etc
  2. Customizable Cruise Control to keep the craft moving forward
  3. Customizable Fuel Burning behavior
  4. Customizable sinking/crashing behavior including smoke, explosion on impact, and uncontrollable dives
  5. Restricting motion to horizontal or vertical planes
  6. Customizable "Hover" land contour following behavior for cars and surface vehicles
  7. Optional craft teleportation
  8. Require water contact for sailing ships and water craft
  9. Crafts that explode when they collide with things for ramming or torpedoes

Server Options

  1. Customizable Pilot Tool for craft control (or you can disable it to force sign only movement)
  2. Man Overboard timeout to allow anyone who falls out of a craft to get back in it
  3. Configurable WorldGuard protection against moving into forbidden areas or sinking over protected areas

Permissions

Movecraft uses the following permissions:

movecraft.<craft name>.pilot
movecraft.<craft name>.move
movecraft.<craft name>.rotate

For example, if you have a craft named "Airship", you would need movecraft.Airship.pilot, movecraft.Airship.move, and movecraft.Airship.rotate in order to completely use it.

Troubleshooting, Error Reporting

Please use this site to report errors and for troubleshooting assistance: https://github.com/msummers123/Movecraft-3/issues

New Features:

1 - WorldGuard integration - if enabled, crafts can not move into regions where the pilot has no build permissions. Also, if enabled, crafts will not sink in regions where pvp is disabled.
2 - /manoverboard command - teleports you back to your craft if you type the command after falling out of a moving craft.
3 - server side light pollution cleanup process - isn't visible unless you leave the area and re-enter it, but it is fixed on the server
4 - added support for command blocks, hoppers, droppers, and trapped chests
5 - added a warning if you walk off a craft in an area where it might merge with nearby blocks when re-piloted
6 - Remote Sign - the ability to activate any movecraft sign remotely, including launching torpedoes and rotating turrets
7 - Important bug fixes, including a big one with turning at high relatize z coordinates that could potentially crash a server

I can't get this to work.  I looked at the files, downloaded "Movecraft V 3.1.X54 for 1.7.10".  I ran my server but when I try to right click an airskiff sign with a skiff, I get:

[20:22:12 ERROR]: Could not pass event PlayerInteractEvent to Movecraft v3.1.X54
    org.bukkit.event.EventException
    at org.bukkit.plugin.java.JavaPluginLoader$1.execute(JavaPluginLoader.java:294) ~[craftbukkit.jar:git-Bukkit-1.7.9-R0.2-20-g0b2ed13-b3108jnks] .... etc etc

I tried several Bukkit versions.  I noticed when I ran craftbukkit-1.7.10-R0.1-20140808.005431-8.jar the server version info said:

This server is running CraftBukkit version git-Bukkit-1.7.9-R0.2-20-g0b2ed13-b3108jnks (MC: 1.7.10) (Implementing API version 1.7.10-R0.1-SNAPSHOT)

That says both 1.7.9 and 1.7.10.  I assume the MC version is what the files section "game version" needs to match, right?  How do I make this work, or do I have the wrong bukkit?

    Does'nt work :(

I wanted this plugin for better combat than autocraft replies, but I can't get it to work. The only setup guides I can find are for older versions or spiggot, and I am running Bukkit. The types folder is empty, I can't adjust cruise speed or fuel settings in the config(because they aren't there) and there are no numbers in the localisation file. If you could at least tell me how to make ship types it would be greatly appreciated. Thank.

Will Movecraft run on singleplayer vanilla Minecraft? I really am hoping to use the world I developed already but add a movable Pirate Ship. If so, how do I know if the installation worked? Is there some change in control windows or inventory window or something? The plug in sounds like a great design! I can't wait to sail some pirate ships!

    Thanks!

This plugin doesn't seem to want to work for me.  We're trying to build  an airship, but it keeps saying our path is obstructed.  I have trynudge set to true, would that stop it?

If that's the problem, I really hope nudge gets fixed, because I'm not a big fan of the blocky, chunky movement.  I'm only using it because it's the only way to add airships (and hopefully soon, naval ships) to the game.  Our server has three naval ships and one submarine, and using those would be awesome.  But if we could use them in a fluid, smooth, realistic way, without all the chunky movement, that would be amazing.

Wonderful though this may be, the lack of decent walkthroughs makes it very prohibitive to use.
