Change your user's nametags!
(That's the name over their head)
Give users the following permissions to apply that color (or formatting) over their head.
The order here corresponds to the order of color codes, starting with black (1) and ending in white (f)
Give the following for format (can have one format as well, note that this results in even further trimming of your name)
And you're done! That's it! Now you'll have a colored/formatted nametag!
To give yourself a random color or format: Grant all the nodes you want to be on the random list. It will be random from that list each join.
If you have inheritance in your permissions plugin and are inheriting nodes from other groups, negate the nodes in the higher levels you don't want being granted at that level. This is not a NameTags bug, but the way your permission plugin works.

You have multiple permission nodes granted! Check your permissions setup, it needs a fixin'. ;)

setDisplayName: if true, also change the DisplayName property, often used by chat plugins
setTabName: if true, also change the name in the tab player list to match
refreshAutomatically: update tags every minute (for permission changes, or to change your random color every minute)
noChangeForLongNames: If true, long names that would get cut off *, instead don't get colored

* There is a 16 character limit to name tags, and a 16 character limit for minecraft username. Adding color means letters are cut off the end, breaking skins.

New permission node: nametags.color.random. Adds ALL the color nodes (but not formatting) to a user.
Lastly, fixed a bug with displaynames that nobody noticed until January.
Add nametags.* permission node, so you can negate it for inheritance issues.
Add refresh option. Set refreshAutomatically to true in config to enable.
Checks nametags for changes every minute and refreshes. Note this will result in random changes if you have multiple color/format nodes.
