About RandomMOTD

What is does

RandomMOTD is a lightweight plugin that gives the possibility to give servers some variation before people can even join it! It shows people a random server MOTD out of the config. For the newbies, a MOTD is the little message which is written underneath the server name in your server list.

How to install

Installing this plugin is very easy! Click the button "Download" at the right top and place the .jar file into your plugin folder. A config.yml will be generated with a list of some default MOTD's. You can change these like you want.

How to use

In the config you can make multiple MOTD's for your server. This way players which connects will get another MOTD each time they refresh their server list. This gives a very nice effect for the players who connect the server. The plugin overrides the default MOTD out the server properties file.

EDIT: In version 1.1 you will be able to simply add colors with a & symbol.

This plugin doesn't have any permissions, it changes the MOTD for everybody.

At the moment there are no commands in this plugin. Maybe later I will make a reload command, but I don't think it's necessary.

Color Codes

This plugin accepts a lot of color codes, this is a list of them:

  • &0 = Black
  • &1 = Dark Blue
  • &2 = Dark Green
  • &3 = Dark Aqua
  • &4 = Dark Red
  • &5 = Purple
  • &6 = Gold
  • &7 = Gray
  • &8 = Dark Gray
  • &9 = Blue
  • &a = Green
  • &b = Aqua
  • &c = Red
  • &d = Light Purple
  • &e = Yellow
  • &f = White
  • &l = Bold
  • &m = Strikethrough
  • &n = Underline
  • &o = Italic
  • &r = Magic (some spacing letters :D)

    I can't edit the already-made MOTDs.

It works completely fine, but when I edit the already-made MOTDs, it just keeps them like I didn't edit the file at all. Is this a bug?
