Downloading and Installation

• Download the client at www.curse.com/client
• Run the downloaded setup file, which will begin the installation process.
• During installation, you will be prompted to choose whether you want to enable several features:
• The client may need to undergo an update before first use. It will automatically shutdown and install the latest update for you.
  • Autostart will cause the client to run everytime you start your computer
  • Shortcuts will place a Curse Client shortcut on your desktop
  • Curse Profiler will let the Client install the Curse Profiler addon – allowing the Client to collect game data and submit information such as character profiles to our database sites.
  • Launch When Done will start the Curse Client after installation
• Please note that you will need a Curse.com account in order to use the Curse Client. You can register for a free account on Curse.
• The client may need to undergo an update before first use. It will automatically shutdown and install the latest update for you.

Adding Games to the Client

• In the Manage Games menu, click the “Add Game” icon at the top.
• Enter a name for the game you are adding to the Client, select a type, and enter an installation path. Please note that you should enter the installation path to the game’s base folder – not the addon folder.
• After entering the appropriate information, the Client will create the game in the menu and will scan the game’s addon folder, populating the “Your Addons” tab with the addons you currently have installed.

Managing your Addons

Scanning Addon Folders

• When a new game is added to the Client, your addon folder is automatically scanned and identified.
• In cases where the Client cannot identify an addon, it will alert you and you can find a list of these addons in the Unidentified Addons Tab.
• You can toggle scanning with the Configuration -> Addon Settings -> Scan Addons at Start option.
• Detected addons are added to the client’s Addons list

Installing New Addons

• New addons can be installed either from Curse.com using the Install via Curse Client buttons, or from the client itself.
• If you use Curse.com's Install via Curse Client option, your computer will launch the Client (if it is not running already), and will download the addon.
• From the client itself, use the Find an Addon tab in the Addons section of the client. Type the name of the addon you want to install. The list of available addons will be filtered by your entry. Once you find the addon, download it either by double-clicking or selecting the addon and using the Install Selected button.

Managing Installed Addons

• In the Addons section of the client, there will be tabs for each game you have installed. Each game tab lists the installed addons 
• The client will check for addon updates at launch and at periodic intervals when running. 
• The list of addons displays the name, author, category, and installed/latest dates for each addon.
• Click on an addon in your list to start managing it. You can hold down the control or shift keys to select multiple addons. 
  • Refresh – Refreshes the list of the addons
  • Update – Updates selected addon
  • Update All – Updates all addons (available to Curse Premium members only).
  • Uninstall – Uninstalls the selected addons and removes them from your hard drive
  • Premium users will also have the option to allow the Client to automatically update their addons. In order to enable this option, go to Manage Games on the left menu, and select the option under Premium Settings.

News Section

• Recent news headlines from Curse are displayed
• Headlines, a synopsis, and links to the full story are provided

  • Login – Brings up the login window
  • Minimize – Closes the client to the taskbar
  • Exit – Closes the client
• Tools
  • Check for Addon Updates – Scans each game for updates to installed addons.
  • Check for Client Update – Checks to see if an update is available for the Curse Client.
  • Options – Allows you to set various options in the Curse Client.
• Help 
  • About – Gives information about the client
  • Curse Client Help – Goes to this page
  • Report a Bug – Select this to report a bug with the Client.
  • Learn More About Premium – Opens a page on Curse.com that gives you more information on the Curse Premium program.

  • Mob health, location, drop rates, etc.
  • Questgivers, item vendors, trainers, etc.
• Quest information, starting and end points, objectives, rewards
