I'm not the original creator of this Add-On.
The original projects can be found /downloads/details/6144/ (FloTotemBar) and /downloads/details/5278 (FloAspectBar)
Only Works with English Game Client for now!
This Add-On is a merging of both FloTotemBar and FloAspectBar, and it was modified for all Classes other than Hunters and Shamans.
If you're getting errors after Logging In a character, type:
/fab reset
/ftb reset
Note: If you want suggest a skill to be added, please comment it.
Thank you.
- Fixed a bug that would make it Auto Position despite being Unlocked/Locked.
Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Zidomo saidGetting there, but not there yet ;).
v1.7.1, WoW 2.4.2 live, on a mid-level mage again. FloTotemBar (the various parts of which have the majority of the mage spells) locks and unlocks properly and doesn't taint so far.
But FloAspectBar still doesn't lock properly. It contains two mage spells here: Evocation & Cold Snap. Unlock it, move it, relock it...and when casting a buff from the Blizzard bars (or similar) it magically resets to the bottom left original position.
You can't have one bar up without the other (errors are thrown and/or they don't show up if you log on without one active), so hope you can finally fix the locking soon.

Zidomo saidv1.7 locks the bars properly, nice work.
But...another problem. FloTotemBar taints significantly. Tainting with various bar mods happens quite a bit actually, unless they are designed properly (using secure functions, etc.).
Log on again with my mid-level mage with both FloAspectBar and FloTotemBar active. As above, they lock and unlock fine. But at the end of the session, I have a 4 MB (!) taint.log file. Haven't had a taint.log file that gigantic since shortly after WoW 2.0 hit and mod authors were still learning about secure frames:
5/12 22:48:40.062 An action was blocked in combat because of taint from FloTotemBar - FloBarFIRE:SetWidth()
5/12 22:48:40.062 Interface\AddOns\FloTotemBar\FloTotemBar.lua:600 FloTotemBar_OnUpdate()
5/12 22:48:40.062 FloBarFIRE:OnUpdate()

5/12 22:48:40.171 FloBarFIRE:OnUpdate()
5/12 22:48:40.187 An action was blocked in combat because of taint from FloTotemBar - FloBarFIRE:SetWidth()
5/12 22:48:40.187 Interface\AddOns\FloTotemBar\FloTotemBar.lua:600 FloTotemBar_OnUpdate()
5/12 22:48:40.187 FloBarFIRE:OnUpdate()
5/12 22:48:40.203 An action was blocked in combat because of taint from FloTotemBar - FloBarFIRE:SetWidth()
5/12 22:48:40.203 Interface\AddOns\FloTotemBar\FloTotemBar.lua:600 FloTotemBar_OnUpdate()
5/12 22:48:40.203 FloBarFIRE:OnUpdate()
From briefly looking over the file, all the errors are identical; they repeat continually for the 45 minutes I was on that session.
From what I remember from my low level Shaman, the original FloTotemBar doesn't have tainting issues. Hope the problem can be resolved.

Zidomo saidA long time fan of FloAspectBar for my hunter alt, so decided to give your version a try (on my mage alt). Unfortunately has a problem that makes it unusable here currently.
v1.6, Wow 2.4.1 live, USEng client/server. Deleted my old saved variables for FloAspectBar before installing. Installed your v1.6 of FloAspectBar and FloTotemBar. Logged on my mid-level mage. The "AspectBar" appeared in the lower left hand corner of the screen just above the Blizzard icon bar with various mage spells & items in it. Good so far.
But I have other things above the Blizzard icon bar on the left, so I unlocked it ("/fab unlock") and moved it to the right side. Then typed in "/fab lock" to lock it there. No problem.
But...then I cast a portal spell (that was on the bar). As soon as I cast, the bar magically moved on its own back to its original position. Unlocked it again, moved it, relocked it, cast again, the problem reoccurred. Then I tried casting other things on the bar after moving. Every time you click an icon on the bar, it resets itself to its original position.
Need to work on the locking/unlocking of the bar before this becomes usable. Hope to see it soon :).

Merglith saidHi!
1st question: is English Client the EU or US version of WoW?
2nd question: im on EU wow and i tried to use the 1.1 and it didnt even show in my ingame addonlist, so i tried to install 1.2 and same thing. cant use it. not on hunter, not on mage nor shaman - nothing :/
1more thing: your bars are perfect (if i could use them) but please remove the new hunter track bars. no use in having a bar for trackin when Blizzard made the trackingdevice on minimap. let hunters only have the aspects and traps, they have enough to fill their screen with.
Afterall, a really good addon you have been making, i wish i could get to use it, and keep up the good work!

Zynaga saidI added the Track Bar bcoz many people asked to, you can disable that bar by disabling all its skills (i might implement an option for it, later).
I think both EU (EN) and US versions of wow works bcoz they use the same "english" names.
When you extract the files be sure you have ONLY both FloTotemBar and FloAspectBar folders with the addon files inside. put those 2 folders in WoW AddOns Folder and it should work.
Also try reseting both addons by typing /ftb reset and /fab reset (press yes on both).
And don't forget that these addons weren't originaly mine, im just improving them =P.
Thank you.

Volvac saidHeya, always been a huge fan of them bars too. But, I installed the addon, when ya just released it here, and was excited, for i play ever single class other than warlock, so I am always lookinig for shortcut buttons that are a nice easy click away. And fer the Flototem, heh, love it =)
Heres my problem though.
I use alot of addons, and figuredI would play it safe and remove the Flo-totem and aspect before installing, and well, so o far my shammy loves me as usual haven't taled to my hunter, she stole 20g out of my wallet haning out with that dam rogue.
Tried it with the druids, and rogues, and no difference. But then again, is there any know addons that actually do interfere with it other than say Flo's? If so could there be a list put somewehere so people know what or something like that.
Oh, I noticed you mentuined that this addon wouldn't bee all that useful to a druid or rogue. Not sure which one actually has more spells, dut for spels and kills, driuds have more than most downloaded button enhancers allow you to use. Am using sphere at the moment, but if you could make an addon mini map menu buttun to access to at leat someone know if its been loaded, that too wold do wonders! MNot that what yer trying already isn't.
Would realy like to see this become one of the most popular setups, fer all catagories its listen it. =)
If you aren't the kind of coder that dosen't take offence to ideas of them noremal players that have no life. lol But would like to help out in anyway I can. I can even make a goof guinie pig. lpl
Thanks. =)
