- About EpicMusicPlayer
EpicMusicPlayer is a ingame mp3/ogg music player with multipe playlist support a fubar plugin and a fancy little 3d model.
features:
- Multiple playlist support
- Add/Remove playlists ingame.
- Move songs between playlists ingame
- Search for a song
- Playlist with all original wow ingame music included
- Included playlist manager to easy add your music with drag and drop. (needs Java installed, should work on mac osx but not tested yet)
- Supports mp3 or ogg music files.
- Supports all characters in id3tags (Unicode) No need to rename any of your files.
- The playlist manager will not replace your last created list but load and show the list you could have changed ingame.
Extras
- Fubar plugin
- Epicmusicdancer a fancy little 3d model which will play/dance to your music (optional addon)
Currently featuring Sid Nicious, Bergrisst, Mai'Kyl and Chief Thunder-Skins of The Tauren Chieftains. I first hat the idea to add a dancing ogre but unfortunately this (and most other models) won't display or dance as they should with the wow addon api.
The Epicmusicdancer and the Fubar plugin are seperate addons.
You can disable them or even not copy them to your interface folder.
Usage:
- left click - play next song
- midle click - play/stop
- right click - show options
- use scroll wheel - adjust music volume
- Ctrl use scroll wheel - adjust effects volume
- alt use scroll wheel - fine adjust volume
- alt click - show playlist
- shift click - play last song
- ctrl click - Write artist and title to default chat. (guild, party etc.)
All of these work on the minimap button, the gui text and the fubar text/icon.
You don't need the gui visible at all.
Slash commands:
- /emp (show the options dialog)
- /emp ctr (list control options)
- /emp op (list other options)
If you like Sig Nicious the bandbloodelf i will add more of the bandmembers:)
You miss a feature or don't like something about the player? Please let me know.
I look forward to your feedback.

xxxacezeroxxx saidNone of the music that I made with the play list manager shows up in-game. I used the little java program and all the music that i want is in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\EpicMusicPlayer\music. I notice something when creating and saving the play lists though. The Files emp.config and backup.lua appeared on my desktop. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

yess saidThe Files emp.config and backup.lua will alway be created in the folder where the EMP_Playlist_Manager.jar is in. Thats just fine.
If you add music to the playlist manager save and close it and then start the playlist manager again is the music you added still there?
You could also try this:
Quit wow if running.
Delete the playlist at "..\World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\ACCOUNTNAME\SavedVariables\EpicMusicPlayer.lua"
Then create a new playlist with the playlist manager.
Check if the playlist is now in the folder as stated above. If not check your account and music folder settings (Tools > Options).
Start wow.

yess saidYou double click on EMP_Playlist_Manager.jar an nothing happens? Or do you get the music folder selection dialog and a problem after that?
Do you have java 6? or an older version?
Could you pleas try to run EMP_Playlist_Manager.jar from a dosbox and post any errors you see.
like this:
Sart > run > cmd
now change to the folder where EMP_Playlist_Manager.jar is (eg in folder C:\emp)
enter: cd "C:\emp"
finaly enter: java -jar EMP_Playlist_Manager.jar

thegriff saidafter ver 0.7.4, when you click on the playlist in the fubar tooltip the playlist window doesn't show. It does nothing. I'm going to roll back to an earlier version for absolute verification.

yess saidHmm what exactly do you mean with "on the playlist in the fubar tooltip"?
In any version only a click on the artist/songname in the tooltip will open the playlist. And this works fine with version 0.7.5 at least for me.
I once hat the problem that this did not work on every click. But that was not an EMP issue because all clickable fubar tooltips were affected.

IAmParadox saidAll WoW mp3 players require you to have the mp3s under the WoW folder somewhere, WoW won't load mp3s from anywhere else, so, you may as well stop looking for one that plays them without downloading them, and either use WinAmp, or pick an addon and use it.

Ryldd saidis there a way for others to hear my music in game?

yess saidAn addon can't send your music to others just play what is in their wow folder.
It would work with the ingame music but there is no point in that at all^^
But you could use the voice chat of wow to let others hear your music. Not the best quality tho xD

IAmParadox saidThere is an addon called gag that does something like this, but, for it to work, every one around you would have to have the same mod and the same mp3s.
