- About AoC: FPS Boost Launcher
This tool is a pre Launcher for AoC it simply execute a DirectX Call "timeBeginPeriod(1);" many FPS player know the trick to improve Framerate by opening Windows Media Player and let it active in background.
This tool actual do exactly the same effect but without wasting Ressoucres to the Mediaplayer.
Temporary I have a longer exact description on my Page in German: http://www.solariz.de/aoc/20-aoc/82-aoc-fps-boost-launcher
The tool is Open Source so to avoid the fear of Key Loggers you can see the Sourcecode here: http://www.solariz.de/aoc/20-aoc/81-aocfpssource

Thenger saidHas anyone figured out how to un-install this without having to re-install AoC?

CrazyHeckman saidThis doesn't work and neither does the media player trick. There's a c++ function called GetTickCount() (or something similar) that retrieves the amount of milliseconds from the applications start. Some programs use this to determine frames per second ratios. What this program and the Media Player do is reset the Tick Count, making most program's fps meter lose their precision.
This does not increase your fps, never has, never will, it will simply make your fps tracker inaccurate.
Besides that, I think Conan goes straight for an actual time source like your desktop clock anyway.

spike-d saidI was told that this probably was obsolete, since Funcom probably had already implemented whats needed in the game code itself.
Didn't work squat for me either.

Thariir saidIsolated the problem....Atleast for me.
Update your .NET framework and use the NetFx64.
After i did that the program works.
EDIT:
Also important
In the textline
"D:\Age of Conan\AoCFPSBoostLauncher.exe" D:\Age of Conan or whatever your line is....dont forget there is a space after the Launcher.exe" and the D:\
Like this:
Right: "D:\Age of Conan\AoCFPSBoostLauncher.exe" D:\Age of Conan
Wrong: "D:\Age of Conan\AoCFPSBoostLauncher.exe"D:\Age of Conan
EDIT 2:
It is the AoCFPSBoostLauncher.exe yellow exclamation mark icon you should do a shortcut to the desktop with..not the Aoc.exe file.

quentyns saidI just logged into the game and told everyone I found a cool program that increases fps, when I told them the name someone said it was a key logger and that I better change my account password asap. Can anyone verify whether or not this is true?

AussieBrad saidCan anyone help me with un-installing the program? I gave it a try and noticed no increase to my FPS so decided to revert back to launching AoC normally. I changed my target path on the desktop AoC shortcut back to its original and deleted the .exe file but when I launch AoC it still comes up with a command prompt trying to initialise the FPS fix. It doesn't actually work because I deleted the .exe but I think the script to run the command prompt is still somewhere in my AoC folder and I want to get rid of it.
Its not actually causing any problems I know of but its kind of annoying having the command prompt come up every time I start AoC.

De5troy999 saidI have a problem.
This is completely installed correctly, no problems, and totally works. But at a minimal, I get about a 5 fps increase. Others have been getting 30-60 fps increase, and I would love to know what is wrong with mine.
Also, to improve fps I have used Windows Media Player, got another 5+ fps. So with the booster launcher, and wmp I a whopping +10fps. Yay...
Anyone that knows how to fix this or tell me what I am doing wrong, please explain in a reply in this thread.
Thank you,
De5troy999
