  • About AutoProfit v4.5
  •

AutoProfit adds a small icon to merchant frames that allows you to sell every gray item in your inventory to the vendor instantly. You can also configure it to sell certain white items too.

Trudging through 80 slots of inventory looking for vendor trash after a night of adventuring can take an annoyingly long time. AutoProfit turns what used to take several minutes of clicking and searching into a single button press.

Features

Instantly sell all your gray items to any merchant without needing to sort through your inventory looking for them. Mouse over the tooltip to see how much money you'll earn from the junk currently in your inventory.

Darkmoon Faire items are automatically ignored by AutoProfit and don't need any special configuration.

Use

Simply unzip into your World of Warcraft Addons directory.

Whenever you want to purge your inventory of gray items, visit a merchant and click on the money icon at the top right corner of the merchant frame or configure AutoProfit to automatically sell items without a button press.

Advanced Usage

/autoprofit item link
This command will add an exception to AutoProfit's logic (which is pretty simple.) If you link a gray item, AutoProfit will no longer sell that item automatically. If you add a white item, AutoProfit will sell that item. By default all gray items are sold and all white items aren't. Using this command you can override the default behavior.

To remove an item from the exceptions list, simply repeat the command.

/autoprofit list
This command will list all items currently on your exception list.

/autoprofit number
Remove an item from that location in your exception list. Use /autoprofit list to show all the items in your exceptions list and what number they are.

/autoprofit purge
Remove all items from your exception list.

/autoprofit silent
Toggle AutoProfit's sale reports on and off.

/autoprofit auto
Toggle automatic selling on and off. Turning this feature on will allow AutoProfit to sell junk items whenever you visit a merchant. You won't have to click on any buttons and the normal AutoProfit 3D treasure button will be hidden.

Please let me know if you find any bugs or have any questions.

It really, really needs to not do this. It should look at the item number, not the suffixes, and act accordingly.

Hmm.. some items I just cant get to auto sell. I have been farming my arcanite dragonling schematic, and I get about 2-3 Robe of Winter Night pats, BoP, so i cant trade em. I tried adding this to AP, it shows on my list, but it will not autosell. So far its the only item I have had torulbe with, then again, its also etheonly blue item on my list.

I am getting a lot of the "item x was not found in your items/prices db so can't compare it, it might be worth the least"

Hopefully this is down to this addon and not some other, causing me mucho embarrasment here, but I'm sure there was a database I could upload to and download from.

I'd think feature 1 would be better implemented as a separate addon - the autoprofit configuration is in a global variable; as long as the addons are maintained together, there's no reason they need to be part of the same addon. That would allow someone who didn't want the gui to disable that part. One could also make guis for Cosmos, Titan, FuBar, and any other popular configuration addon, and people would only need to load the one they wanted.

Requested feature 2 is a bit tricky, but eminently doable. I've implemented this in my modified AutoProfitX. (AutoProfitX is available from ui.worldofwar.net. My patch is available there momentarily - but I'm not sure for how much longer. My patch does still have debugging comments in place.)

Requested feature 3 is fairly trivial, especially if the exception list was modified to use associative arrays instead of numeric. This is also implemented in my modified AutoProfitX.

(I assume that feature 3 is refering to a temporary list - for example, to vendor quest rewards. AutoProfit has a feature to let you add items to the exception list for all characters permanently (until removed). /ap [link], if I recall correctly. It was, admittedly, buggly last I checked.)

Requested feature 4 is tricky - it requires a source of pricing data, among other things. Informant and ItemDataCache both make viable sources for this data.

5... Greens generally DE for significantly more than they vendor, but less than the 'auctioneer' price for the items. If you don't want to bother with DEing them and selling the mats, putting them on the AH for approximately the average between vendor sell price and the typical mat DE price (which the Enchantrix addon reports, among others) will generally result in a somewhat higher profit.

Of course, that only works if there are active enchanters farming the AH for disenchantables on your server. Most of the time on Stormrage horde-side, one only needs to put up their greens once - with at least five active enchanters farming the AH, only rarely does a 24 hour auction expire without at least one of us seeing it.

The feature itself is trivial - it just seems economically unwise to me.

    6. I think this feature is useful only to someone who only solos and only has one toon.

    I second Skulver's comment.

I'd like to see 3 implemented first, but I want all of them badly! Please implement these features. Also, I'm having problems with it remembering which Whites to auto sell. Maybe I'm not supposed to link
