  • About Attack bar timer
  •

This addon displays a progress bar for your on and off hand attacks, your ranged weapons, and your enemies attacks (and a few other things i.e. aimed shot). This lets you see exactly when you will attack again. it -should- auto detect attack speed.

commands

/abar, /atkbar

lock - hides the anchor

unlock - show the anchor

fix - resets it to "fix" it(DO NOT use in combat wait till ~5sec after)

timer - turn on and of the numeric timer

mob - turns mob enemy bar on and off

pvp - turns pvp enemy bar on and off

text - toggles textures

info - toggles bar info

Known issues

- This mainly affect dual weilders, but it times between combat log statements, not animation, so make sure that your combat log isn't being updated at the end of the bar if you suspect a bug. This is because the animation for damage usualy comes after the damage is calculated in and therefore reported in the combat log. There is no easy way around this.

-Let me know if any "on next attack" abilities dont reset the bar, I tried to think of all of them, But I'm sure that I missed a few

-For auto wand and auto shoot, it times between hits, not between shots, there is no easy way around this

- May get confused when rapidly entering and exiting melee combat.

- Enemy bar wont work with duel weilding enemies, I cant get hostile offhand speed to retur

- Enemy bar will be confused by multiple same named mobs attacking you, or by another character nearby named "You"

- Enemy bar may be confused by rapidly switching targets

Your bar should work perfectly if your not dual wielding

Up coming when I feel like it:

-pets(would anybody want this?)

-On that same note, a super configurable version will be out, likely allowing you to track your own pet.

-Hopefully a cosmetic update, the community seems to be less fond of the defualt look than I am

thanks to level matrix for their oh so adaptable frame

For the latest version of Quartz, go to files.wowace.com

I will check if the swing timer works now...

It would be great if slam reset the attack timer as well.

  • April 20, 2008, 06:46PM (2 months, 2 weeks ago)

Sorry about that, the parry was in there as a debug statement for my own use - I fixed it. Also the mob check got lost in the moved to the new combat log event, but I fit it back in. New version should be fixed, but let me know if you have any more problems.

Another confirmation of the Parry window.... it gets rather annoying

Great Addon. Thanks for creating it.

    Current Issues:
    1. Can't disable mob/enemy attack bar
    2. See "parry" pop up message. Requires me to "click" okay to clear it.

@tehrob: I do not plan on implementing an estimated time of death, but this addon may work for you. http://www.curse.com/downloads/details/234/. it is rather old however.
@basafire: You may want to try /abar unlock. If you want to move the on and off hand bars seperately, that is currently not implemented, but I might consider adding it (I am trying to think of a way that will cut down on bloat)
@Geotoxic: You may want to try /abar info. That toggles the info ans was just added in the last version.

How do I get the text to show up again if it disappears? It doesn't show Ranged, Main hand, etc. on the bar anymore.

  • Oct. 24, 2007, 04:52AM (8 months, 2 weeks ago)

Can someone please tell me how to move the time bars so they aren't both together i want to seperate them so i can see them good....(i just wanna make it so they are both not on each other) please help me!!!

  • Oct. 18, 2007, 06:52AM (8 months, 3 weeks ago)

I have been looking for something like this. More than time it is going to take me to attack again, I was looking for something that would tell me approximate time til death of the thing i was hitting. Any ideas, or possible addon to this addon? :) thanks.

On sword specialization: I am having a hard time getting down to exactly what happens when it occurs (I have a rogue so it duel weilds). How much after you hit does it swing? If its instant, it shouldnt matter, if its not, I have to account for that. Thanks.

  • Sept. 6, 2007, 10:36PM (10 months ago)

With regards to sword specialization and resetting the swing timer, here's what the most recent relevant patch notes (2.1.2) have to say about that:

Sword Specialization: The change to Sword Specialization making its extra attacks appear in yellow has been reverted. Extra attacks will appear in white and act like any auto-attack. They will no longer reset the swing timer of your weapon.

O.K., I promise, I'm still here. Its been kinda busy lately - school just started. Thanks for all the bugs/comments/suggestions. response time:

@ttggg I actualy don't have much expeirience localizing things, I do know localizing it would reqire me to take all of my strings to constants and declare based on that. This is possible, just time consuming so I'd have to put it off a little.

@GraysonCarlyle Thanks for the info, I'll see if I can work that into the next update

@Clouds 2x The Sword spec bug fix is slightly old, from when the X-tra hit was reported seperately in the combat log and the swing cooldown was not reset. If I understand correctly, the swing cooldown does now get reset, so the bar reseting is O.K. Its been forever since I played my rogue, so I could be completely off. The text option I can put in an update you want.

Other info: Farbar is coming along nicely, I can pass it a unit id and it makes a bar to time that fairly accurately. Now to make some dect Interface for it.... this post is just to let everyone know that I am in fact still alive, and as soon as everything settles down I will be coming back to this.

-Sword Spec for warrior shouldnt reset auto attack timer anymore, quite sure ur addon still reset the timer.

-any east way to remove all these not too useful text on the bar, would like to see only time left to attack instead of 10 other things which just covers whole bar and make it really hard to read
