CLEARFONT, FIGHTING THE FUZZ SINCE 1845!

  • If you find the standard fonts boring, hard to read, or, like me, you merely despise it, CF is for you!
  • ClearFont will replace your World of Warcraft fonts with something rather better...

BACKGROUND

I chose these typefaces as they are all clear and modern, yet retain aesthetic beauty. I am proud to say CF is also very effective at helping those with impaired eyesight enjoy World of Warcraft. ClearFont is rated 4.65 on WorldofWar.net, with well over 250,000 total downloads!

Need more convincing? Just look at the beautiful screenshots! Even these screens do not do CF justice due to size limitations: visit http://www.clearfont.co.uk for high-res shots.

Naturally, I would appreciate any reports of problems, or any requests for changes.

INSTALL DETAILS

Please delete any previous versions when updating.

STEP ONE

  • Simply unzip the files and place in your World of Warcraft directory, paying attention to the download's directory structure!

STEP TWO (optional)

  • This part overrides all remaining WoW fonts - including the login screens!
  • See http://www.clearfont.co.uk/readme.html#Install for more information.

CLEARFONT.CO.UK

See the website for lots of extra info on all aspects of ClearFont! You can also view a comprehensive readme which includes more info on how to change the font styles & sizes, use your own font, and much more!

FURTHER INFO

This addon is designed on a 1440x900 17" TFT monitor, UI scale set at 100%, and looks best on medium to high resolutions. ClearFont has a very small memory footprint - the download size is bulked up by the inclusion of the font files!

I do not have any minimap button - I use Titan Panel instead of Fubar so also no Fubar menu
How can I bring up the Minimap button
/cf is only very poor for changing things - or how to change the size of the "damagefont" (or bold or similar)
Great addon btw. - maybe somebody could help me with the minimap button
    thx

hello, is there a way to apply clearfont to the addons only?

Nice addon. I noticed however that after reloading the UI after using /rl, the chat window will revert back to the original font. It works fine when I first open the game but if I use /rl withought logging then the addon will no longer change the font in the chat window.

I have a request... The Adventure Font found in Scrolling Combat Text, and Cooldown Count is my all time favorite. This addition to your list would guarantee yet another loyal downloader.

!!!WARNING FOR CYRILLIC USERS:You can only use Calibri or LucidaGrande! Other fonts not have cyrillic letters inside.

It seems in doing your updates for version 2.4 of WoW, you failed to update the TOC for Clearfont2 and also the FontPack. It's a minor thing, but when trying to find out which addons are out-of-date, this one shows up even though it says it's been updated for 2.4. Can you maybe update the TOC in the next release?

An awesome mod, but, it doesn't appear to play well with Auctioneer. The main auction text is incredibly tiny after using Clearfont and I can't seem to make it bigger no matter what I do. Any help on this?

theres a quite a few problems with this mod
there isnt an options button for starters, there also needs to be a way of changing the font on certain things, but not others,
for example, I prefer the default damage font, but want to keep the addons font for quest log etc but in its current state i cant find a way to do this

Love this mod, but the latest patch doesn't work as well as previous ones. When the mod is activated, I have noticed that the out-of-range red dots on the bottom left action bar, the bottom right action bar, and the two right action bars are now question marks that are shifted over to the right of the actual spell icon, basically appearing in between each spell icon. Also, the font isn't applied to everything that it should be applied to. For instance, spell damage that I cause or any damage that I cause for that matter doesn't appear in the new font, it appears as the normal WoW default font. Only damage I receive from mobs, or other players appear in the new font. One more thing, I have Titan Panel installed as well, and when I right-click the top bar, the first drop down menu I get appears in the WoW default font, the branches that extend from this drop down menu are in the new font. Just thought this might be affecting other people.

I have found a way to add your own fonts....

Its gotta be a .ttf file

explore to Interface\AddOns\ClearFont2\Fonts directory. From here you can pick one of the preloaded font folders and copy your new .ttf file into one of these folders. Move the files out into a different folder(even main folder font files) and place a copy of the font you want to use back into the directory renamed identically to the default files.

I now play WoW in comic sans font yes.

Looks like they're not updating on this site anymore, but the latest version is available from http://www.wowace.com/wiki/ClearFont2, and is currently build r49829, dated 2007-9-26, so it's very much still alive!

Arg! The menu Isn't showing up. Not with a minimap button (there is none) or /cf. The font is changed so the addon itself works and is active... How can I fix this?

EDIT: Nvm, I download a older version and that seems to work fine! xD

I think the problem a lot of people are running into is that the zip you download comes as ClearFont2-r39590, and the file you need to put into your AddOns directory is inside that. If you open it you'll see ClearFont2.

ok so the instructions on adding your own font are not as simple as it says. hell even adding the font pack that you can DL separately does not work
