About FuBar 3.0

A panel that modules can plug into.

Features:

1. Drag and drop rearragement of plugins.
2. Any plugin can exist on left or right or be centered.

Installation Guide

Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
  - StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start World of Warcraft
Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)

When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.

If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support

WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

i have a small problem on my rogue where my stealth icon covers the bottom row of text in the chat window. if i fool around with chat window it moves up 1 space so problem fixed but then it moves back down are there any other people out there with the same problem??? i gues it wold be the same with pet icons aswell?? also how can i fix it i realy like fubar and would hate to have to change to another mod because i cant read some of my chat..... realy annoying... any help would be apreciated :D

How do i turn the chat messages off. When I am on Quel'danas doing the flying qwests it spams the zone over and over when I move around the harbor ships. I have looked but I cannot find a chat turn off any where. PLEASE I am desparate

What module would that be? beql, QuestGuru, QuestAnnounce, and QuestAnnouncer are the ones I know of that does this. QuestGuru is accessible from your quest log (press Options). The other ones are configured via your FuBar and should be obvious. That is not related to *FuBar* tho, since it's only a framework for hosting other addons.

Seems since Patch 2.4 the frames do not auto-adjust. My toolbar keeps halfway disappearing behind the bottom bar. Anyone else having this same problem or discovered a solution?

Ckknight hasn't been keeping his addons updated on other sites recently. The version currently posted here is old. You can get the latest version from http://files.wowace.com/FuBar/FuBar.zip, and the latest versions of any other addons by Ckknight from files.wowace.com.

The current version of FuBar is 3.0, do not install FuBar2 from files.wowace.com thinking it is an update, it is not an update it is a copy of the older 2.0 version of FuBar.

If you go to that page, it shows category list down the left side of screen and a few things at the top. But when you click on them, nothing happens and you sit there with a blank page except for the links that just are there to look pretty apprently. I clicked every single link on the page and nothing happened.

2.0 FTW! 3.0 has to many bugs and the "auto adjust fram" feature doesn't do anything but move my Mini Map halfway off the screen. 3.0 FTL!!!!!!!!!!

I'm having trouble with the latest version of Fubar. I've been using Fubar for quite a long long time now, and this is the first time I've had this sort of trouble.

I installed the newest version and the Fubar disappeared, all the fubar addons were around the mini-map. I got so many errors, it was hard to determine which were relevant.

So I disabled all my addons except Fubar. This time I got just one error: "attempt to call global 'Rock' (a nil value) " and of course no fubar.

What could be going wrong here? It doesn't work even when it is the only mod I have enabled.

Install the latest version of FuBar from the link above properly and things should work. Latest revision in that zip at this date is r53219.

Be sure to delete your old \Addons\FuBar\ folder before installing the above.

I don't know if the problem is coming from Cartographer or Fubar but there is something wrong between the 2 of them ... no matter which version of both addons I install they simply don't work together anymore ... I'm gonna try going back to the oldest version possible on both of them as I know for a fact that they were working before the damn recent series of updates.

PS. By the way, the latest version of Fubar posted above (r50845.27) does not even work for me if I put it as THE ONLY addon, alone and all by itself ... sucks!
