Hallo MapCoords User

I took latest MapCoords (0.3) from ReCover and did the TOC update.
the Addon seams to work fine in WoW Patch 2.4.0

no funktion changes at this time
BUT
0.4 is at work
a GUI and German translation is planed
in cooperation with Jim-Bim (MonkeyQuest projekt)

----------------------------------------------------------------
I hope it is ok for Decro

Use
"/mc player" and/or
"/mc wc" to enable the coords (*)

Have Fun
~Urmelus~

(*)the coords in the WorldMap overlays the
coords from TitanPanel if You use it, too

Description

Announcement 05.25.2006:
Since ReCover no longer has the time to maintain this lovely addon he has now decided to hand over his project to me (Decro) for maintaining of all kinds.

But don't worry, I'm not planning to do any major changes on the form of the addon or how it works. The first thing to do will be to correct all the issues listed below:

- If you zoom in on another map/continent and then exits worldmap the portrait coords shows 0,0 and n/a
- Unable to fetch coords from a party member in another zone (workaround, anyone? if none, does anyone know how to display party member zone name?)
- Player portrait coords are to much to the right, so if you got a pet the pet portrait might make it difficult to see the coords easily (thought it isn't covered so you can't see, blame me for not testing properly)

Always yours,
Decro

-

This is a AddOn that shows the cursor & player coordinates on the worldmap.
As of 0.3 it also shows Coords below your portrait and your party members portrait.
Slash commands are /mapcoords or /mc
Toggle of display of every single label is supported

If you want to remove CTMod coord thing:
Remove line 8 (CT_MapModCoords.xml) in file \Interface\AddOns\CT_MapMod\CT_MapMod.toc

Although the MapCoords folder is in the Interface\Addons folder, it does not show up with the other addons in the list of Addons when I log into WOW. Why is that? 5-20-2008 In game /mc or /mapcoords does nothing.

Great addon : ) Had a little trouble at first because this was my first, but now I've got the hang of it. (I'm not very computer savvy when it comes to this stuff lol) However after reading Zexy's comment I was good to go. :D Thanks a bunch!

I'm completely confused. When i go to my map there is the bar at the bottom of the screen where the coords should be(i hope/guess) but I can't actualyl get the coords to show. I used the Curse client installer thing and idk if that does EVERYTHING that needs to be done in order to make this work so if someone could please get back to me REAL soon that would be great! thanks!

Ok, i have it all installed correctly, however when i'm in Addons it says that it's incompatable - any idea's why? The only other addon i have is the Omen Threat Meter.

    Any help appreciated!

    Cheers

I am using perl classic unit frames so /mc player does not show the coords under my portrait. Is there a way to make them show on the mini map instead?

Seems like a lot of confused people here over the past months. To clear up some of that confusion:

    1. If you downloaded the "mapcoords.zip file, open that file and inside you find a mapcoords folder. Put that folder in your Addons folder which is located deep inside your World of Warcraft directory.
    See this image for clarification:
    http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/8123/folders01pb7.png

    2. If you can't seem to get it to work once you installed it, make sure you went into the Addons section on your character screen once you logged into WOW and enable the addon there.

    3. You will see coords at 2 locations.... cursor and player coords will be shown on the World Map, player and party coords will be shown under the portraits of yourself and your party members. Some of these are turned off by default when first installed, you will have to turn them on to see results.

Basically, there are 4 commands you need to remember.

/mc player will toggle on and off the coords under your portrait.
/mc party will toggle on and off the coords under your party's portraits.
/mc wc will toggle on and off the cursor coords on the World Map.
/mc wp will toggle on and off the player coords on the World Map.

The 0.32 for WOW 2.2.3 does work as I have just tested it. If it doesn't work for you, it's possible that another addon could be causing a conflict. I would suggest disabling other addons until you find the one causing the conflict and report it to that addon's author.

I myself have no affiliation with the creation or maintenance of this addon but I have been using it since it first came out oh so long ago and it has never caused any problems for me. It's a pretty straight forward addon that doesn't interact or interfere with other addons. It's one of the few addons that I could reliably count on even with Blizzard's not-so-stellar patching history.

I hope this clears some of the confusion and helps you get use out of this addon.

ps. the only bug(minor) that i've found which is noted up top in the description is that sometimes when zoning, you will get the n/a under your portrait. Easy workaround is to quickly open and close the map.

Hollypup: It won't be there if you have not installed any addons before. So you make the folder.

Click the "Install Guide" tab above the descriptions of the mod above for more help.

I have Windows Vista and when I open my World of Warcraft folder there is not "interface". So what am I supposed to do..?

  • Oct. 21, 2007, 09:23PM (9 months, 3 weeks ago)

    Hollypup

see this image i put on Imageshack. It shows the folder layout so you can see the visual idea.
Inside your World of Warcraft folder, make a folder called Interface
Inside the Interface folder, make a folder called Addons
Inside your Addons folder is where you put the addons

  • July 28, 2007, 09:55PM (1 year ago)

Ok i had some problemswith this but it works fine for Macs and PCs. Download to files and unzip them, copy them into a folder call "MapCoords" spelled exactly like that. Put the folder in Program Files->WoW->Interaface->Addons. When you start the game there should be a "Addons" button on the bottom left corner, if so its workin. hanks aot for the mod
