About Deadly Boss Mods

Features

Boss mods for all raid bosses
Colored raid warnings!
Bars can be enlarged when they are about to expire
Some boss mods have very advanced features like the Loatheb healer monitor which allows you to setup a heal rotation and see the cooldowns of all healers
Synchronization system for accurate timers
No dependencies, no embedded libraries, 100% stand-alone
Modular design - all boss mods are plugins and can be exchanged, removed or updated separately
Load on demand - boss mods and the GUI are separate AddOns and they will be loaded when they are needed, e.g. the GUI uses no memory if you don't open it
Efficient code: low memory and CPU usage
Special effects like the screen flash and the screen shake effect to draw your attention on critical events - for example DBM will warn you when Thaddius changes your polarity
Bars can change their color over time and flash before they expire
Many bar designs to choose from, all designes are are customizable: you can change the color, size, icon position etc.
Option to create custom timers, so-called "Pizza Timers" for your pizza or whatever you prefer to eat while raiding
Powerful object-oriented API - you can use it to write your own boss mods!

Slash Commands

/dbm - shows/hides the GUI
/dbm timer <time> <name> - starts a local timer, the time can be in the mm:ss format
/dbm broadcast timer <time> <name> - broadcasts a timer to the raid group
/dbm unlock - shows a movable timer bar
/dbm stop - stops all boss mods for all players
/dbm ver - performs a version check
/dbm recover - tries to recover canceled timers (DBM will do this automatically after disconnects/crashes)
/dbm spamblock type on/off - toggles boss mod spam block options
You can use /db or /deadly instead of /dbm.

Installation Guide

Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
  - Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
  - WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
  - WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
  - StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
Start World of Warcraft
Make sure AddOns are installed
- Log in
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.

Translations

When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".

TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)

When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.

If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support

WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

HI, i have just got a mac and for some reason this mod won't install into wow when i put the unzipped file in the AddOns folder. Curse client isn't compatible w/ mac and i've tried other sites to download and the file from and it still won't work. Any advice to fix this issue would be appreciated, thx.

On PTR now:

Tempest Keep: The Eye

* Void Reaver’s Arcane orbs now generate combat log entries.

Does it means that after patch DBM will correctly mark orb targets? Or wait new version of addon first?

to answer the question about Void Reaver, Blizz has made it so that Void Reaver does not always target someone to toss an orb at. he just tosses them in random places. So by blizz doin that has actually made the fight against him a bit of a challenge now.

Was there a function in DBM pre-2.4, that when you delivered a killing blow in BGs, you would get a congratulatory "first blood" or "unstoppable"? A short time after the patch hit i noticed i wasnt getting those remarks.

Before 2.4 you could see the respawn timers for different places. One thing I was not sure of, if it was NECB or DBM. Seeings how I didn't really see a feature in NECB for this, I'm not sure. Anyways, I'll post this very question for DBM as well. Because after 2.4, that timer bar does not show up. I don't use the In-Game bar timers and only had DBM installed that did any timer readings aside from NECB. If it was part of DBM, do you think it'll ever be added back in?

I installed the latest version; Deadly Boss Mods 3.10 core/bc mods but everytime I enter a battleground or raid I still get the DBM is out of date message. Also, sometimes when I'm in Alterac Valley waiting for it to start the timer shows the start time on another battleground even when I'm not queued in any others.

Yes, timers on many of the raid bosses are WAY off. Can't do the 2nd boss in ZA anymore. And what's up with VoidReaver?! We don't see the names of the ppl getting shot at =( =(
