AI's display windows are built from "virtual bars", you assign categories to bars so that items in that category are displayed on the specific bars you want. There is no limit to the number of bars you can have inside a window but obviously you only have so much screen real estate before it becomes "too many".
AI uses several methods to assign a default category to an item such as what professions you have, tooltip scanning, basic type/subtype and PeriodicTable. You then assign those categories to a virtual bar.
You can also over-ride the default category by creating a rule that matches either a single or multiple items.
Overview:
* unlimited number of bars (there are practical limits though before your screen becomes full)
* assign items to a category of your choice (overrides the default assignment)
* assign categories to the bar of your choice
* configurable bars per row
* configurable width
* display bank, bag, keyrings for current and alts across all realms
* separate keybindings for bag, keyring and bank viewing
* /arkinv gui reset (puts the windows back in the centre of the screen)
* /arkinv db reset confirm (resets all user options back to defaults)
* /arkinv cache erase confirm (erases all cached data - not options)
Key Bindings:
Press ESCAPE to bring up the blizzard menu
click on Key Bindings
scroll down to ArkInventory
bind the keys you want to use
See ReadMe.txt and VersionHistory.txt for further details

Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

insomnia509 saidArkInventory caused World of Warcraft to crash. A short history: I had tried ArkInventory in the past but switched to TBag because Ark was causing massive lag whenever I opened my bank after setting up rules. It got progressively worse with each rule I added until my +30 FPS screen was less than 1 FPS (literally, no joke). I used TBag for a while but I really missed being able to sort items "manually" using rules. I tried the latest version of ArkInventory today and after setting up my inventory a bit using rules, I started getting errors more and more frequently while assigning individual items to rules. Eventually I couldn't access the game menu or my character sheet (after an ArkInventory error). I had to Alt-F4 out of the game and it soft-crashed (creating the Bliz problem report ticket - which has never happened when I used Alt-F4 before using ArkInventory). Such a good mod in theory but without working Rules and with game bugs, I'll have to stick to TBag for the time being.

Spizer saidLove this addon, just one prob, when i open the guild bank the cost to add another tab and the amount in the bank to withdraw and deposit are overlapping and its really annoying. Not sure if its just me or what. Wondering if there's anything i can do to fix it. Thx

moonhawk saidI must say i'm becoming more and more annoyed at this mod. It used to be my favorite and was so easy to use. But the features i love are slowly being taken away. I loved that you could see your bank wherever you were but now that button has been removed. The key ring has also been removed. It also used to be super easy to create categories for your gear and name it whatever you wanted. Now there is the stupid rule system that is more hassle than it is worth. Unless something changes i'm looking for a new bag mod.

Balastrea saidNew Ace (Updater) version 2.27 is not remembering where I place my bag window. Every time I log it ends up in the same place at the top of the screen. Then I have to move it back into place. Is this a bug with the new version?

This version doesn't work with german client because enUS.lua has some lines commented out. Therefore Ace generates errors with deDE.lua.

dreamcatcher23 saidLove the addon! Question: I have noticed that the size of the bag screen often gets in the way of other screens such as vendor screens and mail. I often find myself closing ark or having to move it so i can hit other tabs or select other things, specially when at mailbox, purchasing/selling at vendors, or auction house. Is there a way to reduce the scale/resolution of the addon so I can more easily interact with other screens while still having AI open?
Thanks for your time and feedback!

KidPunkStar101 saidI have always loved ArkInventory, even got 3 of my roomates hooked on it too. But for some reason now, everytime I open my bags i get this error:
ArkInventory: Alert! Bug fix complete. The FrameLevel for the Bag window is currently at 130 and has been reset to 2 to ensure that it remains functional. Sorry for the lag spike caused by the fix.
Just started doing it recently. Another thing I have noticed is that when I use the bank, for me to move anything either in my bank to bank or bank to inv it lags quite a bit. And my roomates have said that sometimes, when they first open their bank, there is sometimes a Long lag spike of sometimes up to 15sec-1min... I love Ark and will never use any other inventory mod. Not sayin its bad just makin ya awares of the issues I am experiencing. thnx for your time!

Arkayenro said/ai misc alert disable to remove the warning message, the problems still, you'll just be ignoring it.
it should only take about 1-2 seconds to move items between the bag/bank, it may take a bit longer to open the bank or vault but i wouldnt expect a 15 second delay, maybe 3-4 if that. mine is sub second but im using a quad core 2.5ghz pc, it's possible that it'll take a bit longer on lower spec'd machines but even back when i had a pentium 4 it never took that long.

Azzer007 saidHi, there definitely eems to be a memory leak problem with this addon. I've tested by removing all but this and the libraries, and I can reproduce huge memory leaks that eventually reach a WoW crash (when plugin memory reaches/exceeds 100MB, memory block allocation errors).
I have 4 Imbued Netherweave bags (18 slots each, plus the default 16 slot bag), and when I have a lot of items bought from the AH (more than 1 page worth - eg a bunch of linen cloth), along with some random items already in my inventory, as I start going through the mails and right-clicking the items in the mail window (sending them to the inventory), more and more memory starts getting eaten up and the process starts to slow.
I can close the mail box and close my inventory, but the memory stays used up (it's not being freed at any point until quitting WoW and restarting). If I continue to get lots of items from my mailbox right-click taking them in to my inventory, I reach the crash point (100MB usage) and WoW must "crash out".
I don't have any "sorting/grouping" being used in Ark - it's all the default options that are set on install.
Have tried with my other plugins, without them, and with clean installs of Ark (deleting the old plugin folder and old savedsettings files).

Lunestra saidI am a fan of ArkInventory. I enjoy being able to sort my bags and personal bank according to class, profession, or object type. However, I am quite unimpressed with the decision to remove the guild bank display and replace it with a display similar to the bags and personal banks. There is no easy way that I have found to view the logs, nor can I see the withdrawal permissions that may be left for the day on any given character. On my guild leader, there is no way that I can find to purchase an additional bank tab, even though the money is certainly there if the need arises.
What are you plans as to returning the guild bank to the previous view that it has had since the inception of guild banks?

Arkayenro saidyou arent forced to use ai for the vault, just disable ai for that part if you dont want it.
vault logs will be in the next release
purchase button appears in the changer window - just like the bank.
