This ace2 mod is used to calculate Agility Equivalence Points (AEP) for an item and displays the result in the tooltip. You can use these item totals to quickly compare items and determine which is better. It uses predefined attribute weights calculated by Arcazua on TKASomething, but you can easily modify the values it uses to suit your own needs.
Green text indicates points gained from enchants.
White text indicates points gained from gems and gem bonuses.
Sets bonuses are displayed on a second line.
Default Attribute Weights
Agi - 10 points
Int - 5 points
AP - 6 points
CR - 8 points
HR - 13 points
MP5 - 20 points
Command Line
/haep to set weights and other options.
Thanks

Installation Guide
- Exit "World of Warcraft" completely
- Download the mod you want to install
- Make a folder on your desktop called "My Mods"
- Save the .zip/.rar files to this folder.
- If, when you try to download the file, it automatically "opens" it... you need to RIGHT click on the link and "save as..." or "Save Target As".
- Extract the file - commonly known as 'unzipping'
Do this ONE FILE AT A TIME!
- Windows
- Windows XP a built in ZIP extractor. Double click on the file to open it, inside should be the file or folders needed. Copy these outside to the "My Mods" folder.
- WinRAR: Right click the file, select "Extract Here"
- WinZip: You MUST make sure the option to "Use Folder Names" is CHECKED or it will just extract the files and not make the proper folders how the Authors designed
- Mac Users
- StuffitExpander: Double click the archive to extract it to a folder in the current directory.
- Verify your WoW Installation Path
That is where you are running WoW from and THAT is where you need to install your mods.
- Move to the Addon folder
- Open your World of Warcraft folder. (default is C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\)
- Go into the "Interface" folder.
- Go into the "AddOns" folder.
- In a new window, open the "My Mods" folder.
- The "My Mods" folder should have the "Addonname" folder in it.
- Move the "Addonname" folder into the "AddOns" folder
- Start World of Warcraft
- Make sure AddOns are installed
- At the Character Select screen, look in lower left corner for the "addons" button.
- If button is there: make sure all the mods you installed are listed and make sure "load out of date addons" is checked.
- If the button is NOT there: means you did not install the addons properly. Look at the above screenshots. Try repeating the steps or getting someone who knows more about computers than you do to help.
Translations
When you download a mod, please be sure that the mod is compatible with your translation of wow. Some mods only work on the US versions, while some only work on some of the various European versions. These variations are called "Localizations".
TOC Numbers (Out of Date Mods)
When Blizzard patches WoW, they change the Interface number. This means that all mods will be "out of date" unless or until the author releases a new version for that interface. Some people go into the .toc files and update the numbers themselves, but this is STRONGLY advised against as it will cause problems locating possible incompatibilities addons. When you log into WoW after a patch, you DO NOT have to delete your interface directory. All you have to do is simply tell WoW to ignore the interface numbers and load all the mods anyway. All you have to do is, while at the "character select" screen, look in the lower left corner and click on the "addons" button. A window will pop up listing all your installed mods.
If you look in the upper left corner of that window there should be a box that says "Load Out of Date AddOns". You want to CHECK this box. Now simply go into WoW normally and all your mods should load. As of the 1.9 patch, you will have to do this after EVERY patch/update that Blizzard posts! If you encounter any problems with a mod after a patch, please be sure to let the author of the mod know so they can fix it.

Mac Support
WoW addons are not platformed based. As such, they can be used on either Mac or PC. You can extract both .zip and .rar files on a Mac using StuffitExpander.

Kharthus saidWould be great if you could add point values for gem slots. Would make it much easier comparing socketed and unsocketed items.
Also any fixes for it not always showing points would be much appreciated. Seems to happen a lot with items when they are first seen. Not sure how you're accessing the item, but it might have something to do with the local item cache.

dch48 saidI like this addon--unfortunately it still has a couple of bugs--in addition to not always showing the stats--It sometimes causes the pet tab of the character screen to open up every time the pet is summoned. This can only be fixed by turning off the mod and restarting the game with it turned off---very annoying. (It seems that zoning to a new area also fixes the pet tab bug)--You can also fix it by switching back to your character tab before you close the window, that stops it from happening for a while again.
I also find the default stat weights to be inaccurate--I fooled around with mine and now have it set as follows:
Agi-10
AP-5.5
Int-2.5
Crit-8.5
Hit-7.5
Stamina-2
Resilience-1
Mana regen -15
I weighted the first 5 stats on how much dps a point of each one acually adds. This seems to make it much more accurate, especially for weapons.

Gwyngyll saidI don't think the pet tab bug has anything to do with this mod - it's happening to me too and I don't even have Hunter AEP downloaded yet.

jtpowell saidI find this addon invaluable when buying in the AH and choosing rewards at the end of a quest. I have never been disappointed when using AEP as a guide. Unfortunately, 2.10 seems to have broken it, as AEP doesn't seem to recognize most items I check now, including the gear I'm wearing (it worked fine yesterday.)
Please update!

blinkstrike saidGreat addon, any chance you'd be willing to make a dw fury warrior version? Here's the info you'd need
Items are scored by "DEP", which does not actually stand for anything in particular. Damage Equity Points I suppose if you really must think of something. The points-per-stat breakdown is as follows:
1 crit rating = 4.55 points 1 agility = 3.125 points 1 haste rating = 6.465 points 1 hit rating = 3.91 points 1 strength = 8 points 1 ap = 4 points

Grabbing the latest version off of the Ace site fixed the problem on the test server. :)

manicdan saidhey i love the mod but i feel it needs a bit of tweeking before i call it awsome and a must have.
first talents make a huge difference.
a marks hunter will want to have intel rated very high due to how powerfull it becomes with talents, a increase of 6%, huge mana regen, and 45% of that becomes AP. so i gave it 8pts. if your a BM or surv hunter go with 5.
agil should be at 10 for BM and marks, but 12 for survival
i set crit and hit both at 10, because hit has a cap thats to easy to reach and we can waste alot of points without seeing any improvement and crit at 10 cause its dps increase at 70 is far less than most think, but put it at 8 if they dont have mortal shots
stam at 5 because its cheap and common but still important
AP at 6 for marks and 5 for bm/surv
if there was any way to detect triggers in talents to adjust the defalt values that would make a much better system for standardizing values.
next a simple adjustment to the tooltip to show the difference between the current item and the one equiped.
and last a simple total on the main character screen

Arcuss saidYou can set a value for stamina, just use /haep to do so. It just wasnt part of the original calculation done by Arcazua and so doesnt have a default weight.
