  • About Vertigo
  •

Note: This addon REQUIRES you to have LibSlash installed! You can download LibSlash from the WAR section of Curse: http://war.curse.com/downloads/details/13510/

Vertigo allows you to customize action bar layouts - set the number of columns, the number of buttons on the bar, show/hide the pagers or background for each bar, and whether or not to show empty slots.

Example usage:

/vert cols 2 1 (sets bar 2 to 1 column, i.e. vertical)

Use /vert or /vertigo in-game for a full list of options.

and mythic's hide empty buttons mechanic still leaves the grey background behind empty buttons where aiiane's really did hide everything but the used hotbutton slots.

  • I hope this isnt dead ><

The mythic button UI is broken, and wont allow you to select how many buttons you want per bar.

Even if they do fix that, theres still the hotbar "page up" and "page down" buttons in the way, and cant be removed. This can leave someones' hotbars going foobar mid battle, which...sucks. I for one have my hotbars on the left side of my screen, so this happens quite often.

In short, theres still a demand for this addon, or at the very least, someone to clean the current UI up to have the same qualiy that vertigo did.

Vertigo will still work, just make sure it's enabled (it'll get auto-disabled due to the version checking, but you can just manually re-enable it).

so with the action bar updates in warhammer version 1.3 is this addon officially dead due to mythic incorporating everything vertigo did?

if so, congrats ailane for opening the developers' eyes to a better way.

From what I've read, it hasn't been answered yet... how do I put the bars back to horizontal?

  • Action Bar Improvements
Action Bars: The action bar system has been overhauled to allow greater flexibility and customization! These changes include the following:
    * Characters will now be able to have up to five action bars on the screen.
    * The orientation of each of the action bars can now be set individually to vertical or horizontal.
    * The amount of buttons can be set individually for each action bar.
    * Each action bar can be adjusted to allow the buttons to span a user-set amount of rows.
    * The way the action bar and buttons display can now be modified in the following ways: the bar background or frame can be hidden, empty buttons can be hidden, or both can be hidden.

GRATZ, Aiiane! You've now had the honor of being plagiarized by da' Man!

It's not the first time something's gotten incorporated into the default UI. In this case though, it's actually more straightforward than it sounds; all of Vertigo's features were things that were already in the default UI, the options simply weren't made available to the player. They finally got around to adding an options window to code they had already written. ;)

Aiiane, is there anything Vertigo offers over what Mythic has implemented for 1.3? I didn't get a chance to compare Vertigo's options vs. Mythics menu options.

    I don't believe so.

  • Well, there is one feature Vertigo has that 1.3 doesn't: the ability to hide the damn pager on the action bars.

  • No offense, but I'm crossing my fingers that they manage to make whatever adjustments are necessary to get the oddities cleaned up, such as the funkiness of the empty command causing bars to disappear at random.

i am not clear as to a full list of command options. where can i go to read complete instructions to using Vertigo?

  • For those that have the disappearing-bars issue on zoning/death, I have a solution.

Once bars are set, they stay that way even if you remove Vertigo. Simply get your bars set the way you want, with all bars you're using visible, then alt-tab and remove Vertigo from your addon directory, entirely. You can either delete it or simply move it. I move mine upward one, to the interface folder, so it's still handy. Disabling the addon did NOT work for me, but removing it did.

I am having a problem with this addon. When I started it up, it completely messed up all my action bars. It made my two bars vertical(I did not want that). I tried turning them off, but it didn't work, tried disabling vertigo, but it not work. I even tried deleting the file, but it still didn't work. If you have a solution, I would be extremely grateful.

    Thank you.

With WAR *not* running, go to your WAR directory, then into users\interface\allcharacters\ - delete the folders named EASystem_ActionBarClusterManager and EA_ActionBars. Then start up WAR again.

  • A restore or revert to rows command would be uber helpful for this.

Well, theoretically "/vert cols 1 12", "/vert cols 2 12", "/vert cols 3 12", etc should also work. However often times if people don't understand how the addon works it's simpler for me to to just tell them remove the directories.
