  • About Gatherer
  •

Gatherer is an addon for herbalists, miners and treasure hunters in World of Warcraft. It's main purpose is to track the closest plants, deposits and treasure locations on your minimap.

The addon does not track like a tracking ability does, rather it "remembers" where you have found various items in the past. It does this whenever you gather (perform herbalism, mining or opening) on an item, and records the specific map location in its history. From then on, whenever the item comes into range of being one of the closest 1-25 (configurable) items to your present location, it will pop up on you minimap.

When you view your World Map, you will also see the item locations marked on the particular map you are viewing there.

For more information, please visit us at http://www.gathereraddon.com/

USAGE:

Just use the game as normal. When you gather things, they will appear on your minimap and your main map. If you want to configure the addon, click the Gatherer configuration icon floating around your minimap frame or type /gather options.

CONTRIBUTING:

Gatherer is an open source project, and is built upon the donations and the support of the community.

Is there an option to show/hide the "Show items" / "Hide items" button from the world map? It's position does not work for me (on top of another button from Mapster)...

I've been using GatherMate instead of Gatherer recently because of the GatherMate_data addon. Please develop some sort of database that can be stored statically and loaded later, as they do.

In addition, it seems 3.3 broke everything.

    Elipsys,

As Pologoalie notes, there is a dataset available.

Either use the Curse Client to search for GathererDB_Wowhead or go to http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11707-GathererDBWowhead.html .

Until the TOCs have been updated, you will need to enable the Load Out of Date button, but that is all. Enjoy!

    Happy Gatherering,

Super addon, will it be updated anytime soon?

    Aleksej89,

Indeed it will. In the interim, you can simply enable to option to Load Out of Date AddOns on the main WoW AddOns Control Panel.

Currently broken for some users (obviously not all).

Disabled all other add-ons apart from Gatherer, no longer show nodes since the recent updates.

Gatherer database hosted on WoWUI has not been updated since Feb, so woefully out of date.

    Knoddy,

The node locations and results have not changed since a few months prior to the update you mention. There were a few nodes not included but they will be in the next version, including a TOC update.

    Happy Gatherering,

Despite the Wowhead DB not being updated since february, the version I downloaded from WoWinterface seems to have a fair few northrend herb and mining nodes. My partner was having the same problem not too long ago and I just re-dowloaded/re-imported the DB and *poof* loads of nodes and herbs in northrend!

    Give it a shot! ^_~

Auo0declis87 -- I looked into that addon you linked and do not believe that it is a legit addon. My windows and spyware went bonkers when I tried to download and could not find a credible website to O.K. or review that addon.

  • the GathererDBWoWHead is a great plug in however it has not been updated since february. Is there any way to bring it back to Curse also so that I may download it with my Curse Client??
I hope that by the next huge patch Gatherer will have an update--its starting to have odd quirks such as is mentioned in the thread below

    Redblade1530,

Due to the fact that we obtain the data through an agreement with Wowhead, the database is restricted to release from sites in their network, in this case, WoWInterface. http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info11707-GathererDBWowhead.html is the direct link.

As for Gatherer itself, there are no known "quirks". The reason it has not been changed is that the code needed to run it has not needed to be modified, since Blizzard has thankfully not changed anything pertinent.

If you are seeing some actual error, please report them on our main discussion site via http://Forums.Norganna.Org .

    Happy Gatherering,

    Heckendorf,

In addition to the pre-made dataset noted by myrroddin.

The data file location is set out clearly in the FAQ on our main site - http://wiki.norganna.org/Gatherer/FAQ . "The saved data can be found in the following folder: World of Warcraft\WTF\Account\<your account>\SavedVariables. In this folder you can find the saved data for all addons that need saved data. For Gatherer there is a Gatherer.lua."

    Happy Gatherering,

Maybe I'm missing something obvious here. Is there a method to dump gather database info, like with gather mate, or to import another gathering trackers database? I prefer Gatherer, but I want as much gathering info available to me, instead of the zero nodes I've gathered when I start a new ts or zone. Seems importing data would be more effective than hoping someone I know has a node I don't.

Yes Jookster there is. you have to both have gatherer. Right click on the gatherer button next to your minimap. click on mark these and type in the name of the person your sending your gathers to. they must have a gatherables report open as well. then click send marked and voila.
