  • About Deadly Boss Mods
  •

DBM 4.32 supports WoW 3.3.x and Icecrown Citadel

Alpha builds from the SVN are always available on www.deadlybossmods.com.

Website: www.deadlybossmods.com! You will always find the latest version and news about Deadly Boss Mods there.

Features

  • Boss mods for all raid bosses
  • Colored raid warnings (players will be colored according to their class) with icons - so you will know what's going on without even reading the message
  • Auto-respond during boss fights. DBM will inform anyone who whispers you during a boss fight that you are busy. These messages contain the name and health of the boss as well as the raid's status
  • HealthFrame: you can enable a simple frame that shows a health bar for all active bosses. This is enabled by default for multi-mob bosses like Four Horsemen
  • Bars can be enlarged with decent effects when they are about to expire
  • Crash recovery: you had a disconnect or crash during a boss fight? No problem for DBM! It will request the timer and combat status information from other DBM users in your raid group and you get your timers back
  • Synchronization system for accurate timers
  • No dependencies, no embedded libraries (except for the optional LibDataBroker plugin that embeds LibDataBroker)
  • Modular design - all boss mods are plugins and can be exchanged, removed or updated separately
  • Load on demand - all boss mods are separate AddOns and they will be loaded when they are needed. So they don't use memory or cpu until you enter the corresponding instance
  • Efficient code: DBM uses less than 250 kb memory and the cpu usage is also very low
  • Special effects like the screen flash effect, huge warning messages and sounds will draw your attention to critical events
  • Bars can change their color over time and flash before they expire
  • There are many bar designs to choose from, all designs are are customizable: you can change the color, size, icon position etc.
  • Support for SharedMedia, so you can use any texture for your bars
  • Option to create custom timers, so-called "Pizza Timers" for your pizza or whatever you prefer to eat while raiding. You can also send those timers to your raid group
  • Powerful object-oriented API - you can use it to write your own boss mods!

Additional Mods

Slash Commands

  • /dbm - shows/hides the GUI
  • /dbm timer <time> <name> - starts a local timer, the time can be in the mm:ss format
  • /dbm broadcast timer <time> <name> - broadcasts a timer to the raid
  • /dbm unlock - shows a movable timer bar (alias: move)
  • /dbm ver - performs a raid-wide version check
  • /range or /distance - shows the RangeCheck frame

Hi - I am using the latest Version of DBM (4.32-r2645), but when entering the new party dungeons (e.g. Forges of Soul) no DBM Module for the specific dungeon is loading. But in the addon folder I have all 3 folders for the new dungeons.
I use the German WoW client.
    Any ideas?

Suggestion: For Saurfang, can we get raid icons on the people that get hit with fallen?

  • The timer for Saurfang ads is around 10 seconds out - the ads appear to spawn 10 seconds after DBM thinks they will. Ver 4.32 (r2645)

Is it possible to add a Range Check for 12 yds or some way to put your own value into the Range Checker? For example for fights like Deathbringer Saurfang?

If not no biggy, thanks again!

blizz api doesn't actually allow for legit range checker functions. DBM and other mods like it use a hack, it checks if players are in inspect range, trade range, bandage range to determin distances, since there is no spell that is precisely 12 yards like there is for 10 11 15 and 28, just have to make do with 15 on saurfang :(

A new version should be on here shortly that fixes an assortment of major issues with boss mods not picking up pulls/kills after wow patch 3.3. This release was rushed out to you to minimize interruption. Only known issues with it so far is a possible lua error on PIt of Saron on 2 bosses that won't break function really besides maybe causing hoarfrost near you and saronite rock being thrown near you warnings not to fire properly. But this is a minor issue in comparison to what's fixed. These two errors are fixed in alpha version however.

IMPORTANT. DELETE DBM-Battlegrounds before installing this and future updates. If you do not you will have problems!!

Deleting DBM-Battlegrounds wont be necessary for the next release.

  • I have a bug that no one i've talked to seems to encounter. When a boss does a special ability (for instance in TOC Dreadmaws Burning Bile) that targets multiple players, DBM will display a warning saying "Burning Bile : Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Etc..." However.. the next time he does that ability the original list of players is STILL shown "Burning Bile : Player 1, Player 2, Player 3, Player 2, Player 12, Player 1" This will grow till I have a wall of text for encounters with this warning type and I have to disable it. I have completely wiped dbm, including the saved variables and still get this happening on every fight with this warning type.

My 14yr old nephew was with a group in, I think, Onyxia's Lair when he started hearing someone speaking. He figured out it was DBM. Then the voice started using the F word. Repeatedly. I use this addon and I've never heard a voice, just sounds, text, and the like. Is this something new for Onyxia? If so, is there a way to turn it off (other than turning the sound off altogether). His mom isn't happy about it. He wasn't on Ventrilio and the voice was telling him to watch for this, get out of that, etc. and using some colorful language as it did so.

These are the sounds from the legendary Onyxia Wipe Animation(watch on youtube)
    To disable it:
    type /dbm
    choose Onyxia's Lair
and disable "Play funny sounds ..."

I recently updated dbm and I went on to do ToC25, we started the fight and my DBM didn't work, it was working fine and all before, I checked up the settings and they were all correct, what place in-game can I go to verify that its running ok, because It's kind of a must have to raid, it really got me to mess up a couple of times (not having it).
