Floating Combat Text of awesomeness.

Displays Events from the combatlog (damage, healing, ...) as moving text and numbers across the Screen. It also supports various other Events (Loot, Cooldowns, ...). Further Parrot offers a Trigger-system to display Text and play sounds on certain predefined events (e.g. Nightfall for Warlocks).

FAQ

Q: "Parrot is not showing heals, but it's enabled in the options"
A: Since 3.2 WoW displays every full overheal in the combatlog (even for HoTs). That's why Parrot v1.9.0+ contains an option in Events to "Hide full overheals" which is enabled by default to avoid unnecessary spam.

Q: ''I want to use custom fonts and sounds in Parrot, but there are none available'
A: Parrot doesn't provide sounds or additional fonts (only the fonts included in WoW) For additional fonts and sounds please install SharedMedia.
To use custom sounds and fonts see the "INSTRUCTIONS for MyMedia.txt" in the SharedMedia-folder.

Q: "Whenever I /reload or log back in again, parrot auto-hides blizzard's default outgoing damage text (the one above the mob in question). Is there any way to avoid having to enable blizz's functions all the time?
A: When enabled Parrot manages the settings for Blizzard FCTs damage- and heal-display. You can enable these features to be used with Parrot in the config (General->Game damage/healing)

Q: "Sometimes when Looting stackable items, the stackcount is off. Why isn't this fixed?"
A: The problem is, that the Interface-event for the Loot is sometimes triggered before, and sometimes after the item was put in the bag (depending on lag). If anyone knows a solution that does not involve constantly polling the bags' content, I'm open to suggestions.

    Can you throttle only specific AoE spells? I see there is a "Spell throttles" section, but that squelches any extra hits rather then merging them. The Throttle Events options work but I can't set it for only specific skills.

    Actually "spell throttles" should do exactly what you want. It should not suppress anything. It just may wait the amount of seconds set until it displays anything.

    You mean to display it somewhere else but the end of the text?
    That's not possible with the current version and quite hard to implement.

  • I checked the bug site seems hes working on a soul shard problem i never had any problem with.. anyways i am getting this now

  • how do i turn off the default damage/heal/rage gains that blizzard gives us? without knowing this my screen is even more of a mess than it was before.

    When I installed Parrot before patch 3.2, it had a nice font that wasn't a default Times New Roman font (I don't know what it is.) Now, after 3.2, the font has been reset to an ugly Times New Roman. Any way to fix this?

    I'm interested in setting up a trigger for when a certain ability (let's say Mutilate) is dodged or parried; is this possible?

    I set up a trigger and set two primary conditions, both are Outgoing Miss, one is for Parry and the other is for Dodge. However, this will be triggered even on normal melee attacks, which I don't want. So I then tried adding another condition for Outgoing Cast, which was set to Mutilate. However, this seems to simply trigger the notification every time I use Mutilate. Perhaps if there were a way to set and/or operators within the conditions list. For example:

    Primary Conditions

    Outgoing Cast: Mutilate AND (Outgoing Miss: Parry OR Outgoing Miss: Dodge)

    This is not possible at the moment.

    A possible extension to the triggersystem is an additional argument to the outgoing miss-condition (spellname/id). Please create a ticket so that I don't forget about it.

    This one is gone in the release-version.
    The Triggercondition now also compares the powertype. The powerType for Low Mana has been reset to Mana.

    I'm wondering - is there a way to set the "throttling" to the original 0,1s value? I want it to stack my rain of fire again, but I can only select 0s 1s 2s etc, and 1s is too much, I'm getting two "ticks" of the whole aoe effect in one now.

    Other than that, wicked addon ;)
