Turn In

DESCRIPTION

An add-on that automates the clicking of Quests and NPC Gossip dialogues. Automatically turns in repeatable or regular quests, accepts quests, and selects the appropriate options from NPCs. Never have to talk to an NPC again!

HOW TO USE

To bring up the Options window, type /ti window. To bring up the Recently Visited NPCs window, type /ti recent.

Turn In keeps an NPC database, to allow you to customize your interactions on a per-NPC basis. Whenever you talk to an NPC, it appears in your Recently Visited NPCs window. From there you can decide if you want to add it to the Database so you can customize his options. Simply click the + button to add the NPC to the DB.

After Adding an NPC, you can check the checkbox next to its name in the NPC list and then rearrange or activate/deactive his options to your liking. If you uncheck the checkbox next to an NPC's name, it will use the default option set. If you want Turn In to specifically take no action for an NPC, simply deactivate all of his options, don't uncheck his checkbox in the NPC list!

When an NPC does not appear in the Database, Turn In uses the default option set to resolve interactions with it. You can customize the default option set by not having an NPC selected in the options window. The Use Default Settings checkbox determines whether talking to NPC not in the Database will use the default options or do nothing at all. The Automatically Add NPCs checkbox will cause all of your new NPC visits to automatically add the NPC to your NPC DB.

  • Yeah same here everytime i try to exclude certain quests it still picks them up? and like daxdax i get selections like '60' '1' etc.
Other than that the add on is great, would be imba if these problems could be worked out and fixed tjough :)

  • Wow that's odd

Can you post me a screenshot or something? I haven't seen this behavior.

very buggy with 3.1. it shows strange options as gossip selections, like '60' or '1', and it randomly doesn't complete quests sometimes.

Hi mate. Got to say that I really love the mod. it is almost perfect :). the thing you could improve is the wing commanders plus the horde NPC Primalist Thurloga. maybe add the Gallon of Blood quest manually or something?(5 of one turn in). Don't you have a friend with a horde character, else try the public test relms maybe ;)

    Thanks

I had the same problem with the AV NPC's. Now moved over to another mod

  • Hi, first of all. Thanks for a great mod. But i do have a few questions / requests.

It is possible to get "Turn in" to remember settings for different chars on your account? Insted of 1 setting for all.
My issue is that i don't do all quests, from all nps with every char i have. But it accepts all quests anyways, when i click on them. (and yes, have tried the costum option).

Also, it is possible to get a option to permantly deselect a option from a npc ? Like insted of a Ok sign, u can mark it with a red X. To the exclude that option in future visits. this ofc depends on weather or not u can get seperate settings for every char.

    Cheers..

    Problems with AV:

I am new to this addon, and have only used it since the 3.0.2 patch (I am using 2.0.10 of the mod) - so perhaps this is an issue since the patch.

For the life of me, I cannot get this mod to work with the Wing Commander NPCs in AV. These NPCs have no gossip options, if you click on them, there is simply a "continue" button that turns in one flesh, and is greyed out if you have no flesh. I have made sure the Mod is on, and Auto-Add new NPCs is checked. These NPCs do not appear in the NPC database for some reason.

Here is one of them http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=13179#starts

Also in AV, the NPC Primalist Thurloga accepts turnins of a single Blood or a pack of 5 blood. You get more rep when turning in 5 at a time, so I would like the mod to pick that as a priority. However, the mod only picks up the single blood quest and her gossip option, and doesn't register the second quest. Therefore, it will pick the single quest over and over.

    http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=13236#starts

I have triple-checked all the windows/settings, but I am new to the mod so perhaps I am missing something?

  • yeah you're not the first one to tell me about Primalist Thurloga, but I don't have a Horde character to test it with, and the equivalent NPC on alliance side doesn't seem to have the same problem.

You're right about the Wing Commander NPCs. That's a known limitation, since they have no Gossip options, they don't get detected to be added to the DB. I may try to address this in a future release. However, they should work just fine with the default options.

  • Thanks a lot for the update! Keep up the good work!

  • when i talk to a battlemaster he is not registered in the recent guys box

    whats that all about?

  • Most battlemasters do not have Gossip options and thus aren't candidates for automation. You were most likely talking to one of those.

  • Sorry... 2.0.9 didn't have the TOC file updated... I did that and tagged it as 2.0.10. Feel free to grab it if you don't like checking the Load Out of date addons checkbox.

  • I apologize deeply for the lateness of this, as Turn In has been functional in WoW 3.0.2 for some time now... on my local machine. :) I just hadn't had the time to package/upload/figure out Curseforge's new system to get it to you guys. Turn In 2.0.9 should work properly with WoW 3.0.2. Enjoy!

Also I have plans for a more substantial update in the future, hoping to rewrite some of the default NPC logic, as well as how the NPC Database is handled with regards to NPCs with multiple pages of Gossip or whose Options may change regularly. Turn In doesn't handle that very well now and I have some ideas on how to improve it

Thanks to everyone who uses this. :)

  • Update for 3.0.2 please >_< I love it because it is by far the most customizable quest accept/turn in addon I've seen. The others out there just aren't as good as this.

  • Talissa: could you try quitting WoW, deleting the saved variables for TurnIn and then starting WoW again? the saved variables are located in: <your WoW folder>/WTF/Account/<your account name>/SavedVariables/TurnIn.lua

  • Hey Dov, thanks for finding that out! I'll have to look into that addon and see what they're doing... It's probably just the filename screwing up the inclusion in the Script tag.

Hey Talissa, I found the same problem myself, a addon called "SSPVP" (quite usefull) bugged my turnin. This I've fixed myself. The makers of "SSPVP" have placed an file in a map "World of Warcraft\Interface\AddOns\SSPVP\extras" called Turnin.LUA just delete this file and it works proper, if you dont use this addon, just look in your other mods for this kind of file.

I myself found out by just selecting Turnin only see if it works, then just add a few addons all the time till it doesnt work anymore. Now all works fine for me.
