For the past few weeks I've been getting "Curse Client v4 could not establish a connection with the update server". Basically renders Curse nonfunctional. It only seems to affect Curse, which I've been using for years with no problems. Anyone else having these issues?
Can anyone help? My addons are getting horrifically out of date :(

I can connect to curse.com in Firefox but not in IE.
Which version of IE? If you can connect via one browser but not another, it is typically a browser issue. You need to try wiping out the cookies for that browser (especially any and all Curse cookies). You should also try a DNS flush. One version of IE often has issues with the Curse site.
It's apparently IE8.06. I never use it, just Firefox. Only noticed now that curse stopped connecting to the update server and I tried to fix it with those instructions I linked.
I tried clearing cache, cookies etc, flushed the dns, nothing.
I don't know why an IE issue would affect the curse client's ability to connect. It's so weird.

I would also try the articles Failing or Corrupt .Net Installation as well as Corrupted Installation for your Curse Client issues.
Thanks heaps for that, deleting the 2.0 folder and reinstalling Curse allowed me to connect :)
