TrendMicro marking the Curse Client as a false positive? Solution inside!

  • #1

    Greetings,

As of this edit, the Curse Client will no longer be detected as a false positive by TrendMicro!  If you are still receiving this error, please update your antivirus software.

McAfee does the same thing if you enable the script scanner, and also affects most websites from displaying properly. Make sure you do not enable this in McAfee and if you have do disable it.

The curse client is optional but I don’t like that it launches once it’s on your computer attempting to get instructions from curse.com. Sorry but it just looks unsafe unless your 100% certain it’s from curse client. I went with wowmatrix.com and I like it better than I did the curse client plus it is very light weight and you approve the launch on win7 OS. I was not willing to change my antivirus software since I already paid money for it and at the time trend micro had nothing to say on the issue. Removing the curse exe downloads was a pain and it launches to get you to install software. After prior client removal it was still on my comp from downloads in backup folders (finally the built new rig). Anyway before this was an issue with trend micro I was happy with curse client but the ads were getting bigger over the months. All I really wanted was my add-ons to be current and work which they still do. Once again I am Cool.
