I'm kind of curious, because I know it can vastly differ from person to person, what do you look for in a guild?
Any perspective, someone who joins or is a veteran in the guild to someone who is an officer or guildleader.
Back in the day, it was critical to have a decent guild website with forums. Is that even necessary anymore?
There is a very old guild that I used to be active in and I still host their website. They are active ingame (I think, I don't play the game anymore) yet the forums is a wasteland. Tumbleweeds have even stopped blowing by.

I think proper guild sites that are hosted not on sites like guild launch and everything do contain high value. Just about any guild these days can get hosted on sites specifically for guilds but it takes a bit of a higher quality guild to have normal website hosting instead of templated sites.

I think communication is key and a drama free environment. As long as your guildies know coming in what your rules are things go alot smoother.
