I was having issues installing addons, someone led me to the answer that the game was not in curse at the time.
I am on a mac, and I have the most recent version of curse.
I went to prefferences, games, "+" to add a game I led it to WoW and clicked open
It came up with a "Unsupported Game Selected: You've selected the unsupported game `World of Warcraft`. Only World of Warcraft and Warhammer Online are supported at this time. Please try again." Error
I don not get why it says WoW is unsupported immediatly followed up by WoW is supported. Then again I am not good with computers. Thanks for the help :D
I am having the exact same problem :(
WoW is supported on the Mac version of the Curse client but the addon sync isn't.
Are you trying to add the normal WoW, Cataclysm version of WoW for live servers or possily the beta WoW for MoP?
I am trying to add the Cataclysm version of WoW for live servers.
I am also having this problem on my new imac. I've tried adding WoW and Minecraft and get the same error. With a fresh install of the client.
The client is still working on my macbook pro with a slightly older install. Both systems are running Mac OSX 10.7.4 with Curse Client Version 4.0.0.415 Beta.
i've even reinstalled curse a few times but it won't let me do initial setup. I can't add wow to the curse game list. i was installing wow when i downloaded curse after a fresh reboot of my mac. i cancled the sync in hopes to do it later but no luck.
Let me just say I'm having the exact same problem. It's worked fine for me in the past. Stock install of full WoW game client fully updated, latest Curse Client, I run Curse and it can't find WoW, try to add manually and it says it's not compatible. Never happened in the past. It's always worked fantastically. I've submitted a ticked regarding this and as I have a lot of time on my hands atm I'm going to try reformatting my iMac, downgrading to Snow Leopard, reinstalling WoW from my install discs while still on SL, then installing Curse without updating WoW beyond Lich King, then if it finds Wow, upgrading to Lion again and hopefully it'll all be connected. That an extreme long shot out of pure desperation though and it's very unlikely that it'll work. I play as a Warlock so mods are essential to me. :(
**update**
So I downgraded to SL, installed WoW from my discs up to Lich King, installed Curse and tried again experiencing exactly the same issue. This is clearly something with one of the latest iterations of the client or something. I wish I could get my hands on a previous version to try out or something. :(
Same problem here - Curse Client was working fine until a week or so ago then started asking for administrator login every time I started it. I deleted the settings files and reinstalled but now it can't find WoW and I can't add it manually.
We ran into this as well recently and believe it is caused by the latest patch from Apple for OS X. We haven't released any updates to the mac Curse Client in over a year so it probably isn't the problem.
We're still doing testing to figure out the cause and will update this thread when we know more.
my curse client to my mac can't find my wow why??
me too same probelm : (
GOD Im so bored at work!
also, Im using the old OSX 10 so why should that be an issue moderator?
Could it be related to the recent update to flash? It may be unrelated but I think I installed the update about the same time as I started having problems with curse client.
It's possible, but the fact remains the Mac client needs more attention. If this had happened with the Windows release there would have been an uproar and it would have been fixed within the week. It's disgusting how us Mac users often get treated as second class citizens. :(
j800r, we're now actively working on the Mac client and have expanded the client team to have more resources for the Mac client. We're also working through some issues found on Mountain Lion so we're ready for its launch this Summer.
We've discovered the cause of the problem and will be deploying an emergency patch soon.
