curse v3 feedback
Thanks for your feedback Shamino. We are already aware most of these issues. Just some side notes:
- I'm not sure about the favorites and how they were imported to the new database, the reason you see less is maybe as simple as some people still need to upgrade his account.
- We are aware of the issue with the beta versions.
- You shouldnt see images of other mods, this is a bug. Thanks for reporting it.
- Again, the website requirement seems to be a bug for me.
- And again, it looks like there are some serious issues with the editing of comments. Thank you for reporting it.
- You can vote only once indeed, any other attemps to vote will have no impact.
We are sorry for the inconveniences the launch of V3 cause for many addon authors. I'd like to ensure everyone, we'll work on fixing the problems in the upcoming days and welcome the new World of Warcraft patch with a polished, functioning and comfortable file hosting system.
TOC in the addon pages are no longer working

I setup this description last night, confirmed it still looked good this morning Now I went back in this morning to edit my project, since I noticed sub categories were implemented, and after saving the change, my TOC no longer appears.
EDIT: Atlas page was working this morning also, and now it also lost the TOC. It had not been updated as far as i can tell. So I assume the TOC macro feature was removed? http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/files/details/354/atlas/
Was going to start a post like this, but you beat me to it.
Some things to add. Favorites Section: - I'm assuming the big X on the left side is to remove an addon from your favorites list, but you might want to make that a little more clear. - Curse v2 had a nice [Update Last View Time] button, that was EXTREMELY useful. Many people would appreciate the return of this button. The current list has no way of showing what addon you've just looked at after seeing there's an update (such as when your at work), vs actually downloading the new version of the addon (when you get home). - Visibility of updated addons. Currently, when viewing your favorites list, there's no way to tell what you've been to / seen / downloaded already, except for the link being bold, or normal. A visual indicator would help this greatly. (see previous notation)
Files Section: - When clicking to download a file, you have a link for "Select Fastest Server Automatically". To me, this would imply the same functionality as when using sourceforge, selecting a mirror automatically, so that anytime you goto download a file, it will automatically pick a mirror for you and start downloading. Currently, yours doesn't do that, it still requires a user to click on the "Select Fastest Server Automatically", even if you've clicked it previously. Selecting that option should provide an auto-download as soon as you click "Download Now" for all future file downloads.
For both authors / users - Labels System:
While the idea is sound in theory, in practice, it requires more effort on the part of the author to remember to list all the different labels that their addon might be considered under. What would be a good compromose, would be to provide a set of pre-defined labels available to the author, so that if they don't immediately know what labels their addon would fall under, they can check a few of the more common ones off, and have the labels for them generated automatically.
woo hoo! Lots of people bored at work on monday morning means fast user communications :).
I'm pretty sure that the Curse guys must know of the dates problem, but just a clarification of it for explination purposes.
File : ArcHUD Date Listed in Favorites Section: 12/04/2006 Last Updated: 3 months, 1 week ago Post Date: 2006 January 22nd Official Files Dates: 2006/11/02 (all listed as this date, regardless of actual upload)
Also, regarding dates, the format that you guys choose is up to you. Whether you go mm/dd/yyyy, or yyyy/mm/dd or whatever... please duplicate that format throughout the entire site. Users will adjust to whatever the site's format is, as long as it's uniform. Just come up with one longer version (ie. Saturday, December 04, 2006), and one shorter version (ie. 04/12/2006), and use those throughout the site.
P.S. - to Shamino I updated my previous post with a couple items after I thought of them, not sure if you saw them or not. Thanx for keeping the original thread updated.
