What are Curse Points?

Devro - read Zinor's link about Reputation - I think that sums it up. They do have a system for negatives - it's very similar to /.'s Karma system...

Am i Honored with Curse?

I think this system is a great idea and looks a lot more fair than many of the other rep systems I have seen in the past. I think a deduction for Trolling and Flaming would definitely help to keep that kind of stuff to a minimum, especially with the possibility of a negative point count.

Hmm... points... That could cause some quite interesting wars :)

A good system, makes people competitive to post projects, files, screenshots, news and so on. Hehe.

few comments.

  • i noticed i had 22 points earlier. i then went through some of my authored addons and removed some old/outdated comments that were no longer relevant. i now have 15 points. do we get lose points for removing comments ?
  • maybe not the appropriate thread, but how about a tag for authors? to distinguish authors from users. alot of the time authors will respond to user posts or other mods comments. I think it would be good to see the difference of an author responding and just a user responding. i feel there is more credability from an author reply and perhaps a tag would show this? (think i'm going to post a new thread on this topic)

I agree with you Eldredd. It would be nice to have a system for awards to keep users active and helpful. To let you know though, now that we have a system of points, there are going to be a lot of users commenting for no reason, making "Fake" projects, and making post that have no meaning.

Comments will have a full threading + paging system in the next few days so it will be easier to browse.

so wouldn't that get people to leave all their old version of their addons on the site? There by increasing the HDD space and database size.

I agree with LimDul on that one. How will we get the older versions off the site without people getting mad? Do you send a letter before you delete, letting them know what is going to happen? Or do you just randomly delete?
