-Warning System-

-Curse.com follows the fabled, age-old 'three strikes' system. In other words, three strikes against the rules, and you're banned. The first two strikes will be accompanied by a PM from a Curse.com staff member or moderator detailing what rule was broken.
-You may instead by issued only a warning, at a staff member or moderator's descretion, should the infraction not be severe.
-As a final note, please be aware that spammers will be IP banned immediately.

-Rules-

Here you'll find the rules you agree to when you choose to post on Curse.com. Any rule broken in this list shall count as a 'strike' unless otherwise noted.

Profanity
- Avoiding the word filter.
- Posting media containing filtered profanity.

Insulting Other Members
- Posting general personal insults and comments designed to belittle others. (ie. You're an idiot; Comments on the person's gender, ethnicity, sexuality, physical appearance, etc.)
- Posting with clear intent to provoke. (trolling)
- Intimidating behaviour.
- Impersonating a member.

Off-Topic
[The first instances of these will only be resolved with an unofficial warning, users warning level will be increased if the behavior becomes habitual.]
- Posting about things unrelated to the topic or forum.
- Posting only pictures as responses with no meaningful conversation. (Picture spam)
- Posting @the devs threads
- Thread necromancy -- posting in a thread (Non-stickied) that's at least three months old. (Instead, start a new thread on the topic.)

Signatures
[The first instance of this will only be resolved with an unofficial warning, users warning level will be increased if the behavior becomes habitual.]
- May not be larger than five lines of text.
- May only include one image.
- Image may not be over 150kbs.
- Image dimensions may not be over 525x150 or 525x125 with text.

Obscene Material
[In the interest of remaining SFW, the staff reserves the right to determine what pornography/sexual themes are.]
- Posting media containing pornography/sexual themes or extreme violence/gore.
- Posting links to websites containing pornography/sexual themes or extreme violence/gore.

Religious or Political Topics
- Posting images concerning politics or religious beliefs.
- Discussing politics or religious beliefs. (Even in the off topic section.)

Game Terms of Service/TOS Violations
- Selling game accounts
- Posting links to/encouraging third party software.
- Posting links to/encouraging RMT.
- Any other illegal activity. (Things that would be criminal in any part of the world.)

Advertising 
- Advertising about paid game guides (even previews.) 
- Advertising for paid graphics (signature, avatar, banners, etc.)
- Referral links.
- Any and all links to surveys must be approved by Curse staff, such as myself (wishfire), before posting. 
The following will garner a permanent account and/or IP ban:
- Commercial Advertisements.
- Ban Evasion
- Key logger/Virus/Trojan links.

 The final say on moderation decisions is up to the Curse.com staff alone.  If you have any comments about a moderation decision, please contact an administrator or staff member through private message or email.  If you would like to discuss moderation policy, please feel free to do so openly in our Curse forums.  You are not permitted to openly defy a moderator decision, that is, if you have warned about doing something and continue to do it, the punishment may become more severe.  This includes but is not limited to repeated bypasing of the word filter, thread necromancy, and re-opening a previously locked thread.

-Enforcers-

The rules of Curse.com will be enforced primarily by Curse.com Staff Members and moderators. However, please keep in mind that it's difficult for us to catch everything! If you find something that violates the rules listed above, please use the handy-dandy 'report' feature found at the bottom right of posts -- this will call our attention to the rule-breaking post in question. Reports are invaluable to us, especially as we grow!
