All my addons keep resetting when i log out of the game. I did surch over the internet, and found that it could be ralated to the file attribute of the addon folder. I've tried every thing they daid to make the folder attribute change without any success. Even the program "Attribute cahnger" didn't worked... Any thoughts?
Are you running Win XP, Win Vista or Win 7? If running Vista or 7, are you logged into you windows box as an admin?
The easy answer is to Cut & Paste the entire game folder into a neutral location. I use C:\Rift Game for example. Once moved, update your desktop icon by right clicking, Properties, General, and updating the Target field to whatever you selected, "C:\RIFT Game\riftpatchlive.exe" in my case. Next, update the Start In field to your equivalent to "C:\RIFT Game\" and you are done.
Any game that has saved games or the like should never be installed to the Program Files, which I would assume is where you have installed Rift. Windows blocks software from writing to that folder, which is why your addon settings never save.

Thanks for answering my post...
I did cut and paste my Rift game folder under c:\Games\RIFT Game. And all my addons are still resetting as soon as i log off the game.
I am under windows 7 pro 64 bit. I am the administrator of the PC and the only user. I did set the game to run as admin etc... I dont know what else i can do....
Addons are:
Cursor
Rune Crafter Helper
Wires Raid Killer
TCB cast Bar
Simple Meter.
Thanks for helping me.
Go to the folder that contains your Rift folder. Right click the rift folder and pick properties. If the box is filled in for read only, uncheck it and click ok. It will ask if you want to do it for all files and folders underneath the Rift folder. Say yes and click ok. This *should* fix your issue. If it doesn't, something else is going on. Are you exiting Rift gracefully? (IE-not crashing)
I am having the same problem with my addons resetting. I can run addons just fine, but when i reload my ui or log off and back on all the addons are reset to there default settings. I tried moving the file out of program files to the C: but that didnt help and i tried running the game as administrator. The one problem i think i have however is that i dont have a folder that is labeled RIFT Game like i did on my other computer even though my folder labeled RIFT has all the same stuff just in one folder. Should I try to uninstall the game and try installing it again or is there something else i could do.
Backup any addons you have to a safe place. Uninstall the game. Search your HD for anything pertaining to Rift like under \Documents and Settings\App Data etc. install the game again into a folder you specify that ISN'T under Program Files. Try something like C:\Rift
Slap your addons back into the right folder after your Rift is installed AND patched. Connect a few times to Rift before trying to move the addons back into the right folder.
