so i've tried 4 maps now for terraria, and could only get one of them to work. every other time it says, no back up file found!! FAIL!! One of the times the download even came with the .bak file with the world, although that wasn't the time it worked. When it did, it was from me just double copying the file and renaming one. So my question is what am i doing wrong with the others? My copy is a torrent download, but i dont think that would affect it, right?

This 'bug' will occur if:

-The world you are using is from a higher version of terraria than the one you are using.

-The world you are using is from a mod world, aka cmod worlds.

Your problem is probably the former. I have not found any other reasons this occurs, so updating terraria is the fix. (run a verify game cache from steam library)
