I tried to claim the free t-shirt on TSW a couple of times now - at first it accepted the code, but nothing happened, now it says that the code is not a valid TSW code. Is there a trick to redeeming it?
I can't even claim a code - it tells me "SORRY!" I have to be from one of about 100 countries, none of which are Australia.
Curiously, Curse didn't have a problem taking my money for a premium sub from Australia, and Funcom happily took my money for a TSW game and sub from Australia...
Update those IP restrictions, Curse.
We have nothing to do with IP restrictions.
I meant the fact that based on my IP address I am deemed ineligible for a code, despute the list of eligible countries being so vast as to include the Vatican :-D
Has the developer or distributor specifically said Australians cannot access this?
Australia is often left out of a lot of these giveaways and codes. I happen to recently encounter a give away type situation outside of Curse where AU was not allowed in. Likely it is something with the gambling laws.
I doubt that Australian law has anything to do with it, as this isn't a game of chance or a gambling opportunity and at any rate, Curse is not based in Australia and not subject to Australian law.
mmorpg.com also has a t-shirt code, and that one works fine for Australians, fwiw.

I don't suppose anyone has a code they didn't redeem, or an extra, they wouldn't mind giving out to a fellow TSW'er? I missed the deadline by a day or less.

(The inexplicable-regional-restriction thing that often happens on stuff like this is something I always seem to get vocal on; we should all be one world by now ;)

None of the giveaways ever work for me :(
South Africa is unfortunately a country that makes it difficult to host sweepstakes and giveaways in due to the gambling laws in effect from both the United States as well as South Africa itself. :( Curse is always working to include more and more countries as time goes on!
