Need help installing addons? Don't know how to reset your UI? Or is Vista and Win7 giving you a little grief? This thread is meant to help!
WoW (and its respective addon folder) is installed in one of two places. Either in C:\Public\Game\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addon, or C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addon. Should you have the 64 bit version of either OS, it will be in Program Files(x86).
WoW (and its respective addon folder) is installed in C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addon. Should you have the 64 bit version of either OS, it will be in Program Files(x86).
WoW (and its respective addon folder) is installed in Macintosh HD\Applications\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons.
If you have a question about a specific addon, please post in the comments section of the addon download page itself (which is absolutely the best option), or post a thread in the Addon subforum. The general forum is not meant to cover any addon discussion.
To find the vast respository of addons that Curse.com has for WoW, all you need to do is look here! Remember that there is virtually no such thing as a "Mac exclusive" or "Windows exclusive" addon. So long as you've got World of Warcraft installed, the addon should work for you! Also remember that when addons with plugins are updated, such as Fubar or Cartographer, those plugins will generally not work with the new version. For example, Cartographer 2's plugins will not be compatible with Cartographer 3.
If you've updated an addon and it isn't working, follow these steps in this order:
Follow the above, the addon should work.
If you have any questions about a specific addon, please remember to post your question on the addon's download page first. If no answer from the author, feel free to bring up the question in the addon subforum. Happy questing and raiding!
Keylogger IMO
I have had addon troubles before so it is nice to see all this information in one place instead of needing to look in different places.
Thank you!

Thanks for this information. Having troubles wiht this before.
i keep getting this error when i try to down load the curse client
Component .NET Framework Client Profile has failed to install with the following error message:
"Fatal error during installation. "
The following components failed to install:
- .NET Framework Client Profile
See the setup log file located at 'C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1.YOU\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSD429.tmp\install.log' for more information.
why is this happening can you show me how to fix it so i can use this i did a system recovery and i lost this curse client and i cant down loaded it again why
You posted your question to the wrong forum, but I will reply anyway. That error occurs because Microsoft .NET framework 3.5.x is not installed, or not installed correctly. Get it here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=21 then run Windows Update in order to get the patch. After that, it may want you to reboot the computer, but you will be all fixed up to properly install the Curse Client.
If you were curious, the .NET install issue is a bug with the Windows Installer, but MS seems disinclined to fix the problem because it happens so rarely.

Back on topic. It is a wise idea not to use the default install path for any MMO if the suggested default has anything to do with Program Files. People should change the path to C:\Public\Users\Games\Whatever the game is named (ex// C:\Public\Users\Games\World of Warcraft or C:\Public\Users\Games\Rift Game etc) or even better, an neutral location like X:\World of Warcraft or X:\Rift Game -- that's right, in the root directory, where X is your preferred hard drive if you have more than one.

I should point out that World of Warcraft can be moved without uninstalling and reinstalling the game. You will have to adjust the desktop shortcut Properties to the new location, but that is easy.
Other games will require a complete reinstall.

I was woundering if anyone knows how to get add on's working on a PTR (public test realm)
Assuming addons are enabled in the PTR, which is not all the time, then the method is exactly the same as live servers.

Thanks for your information
Same way as removing them for live clients: delete the addon folder within the \Interface\Addons folder.

ok
read user guides that they come with on web page you downloaded from-browse forums-ask people, as for faulty or outofdate addons be sure to regurlarly update latest patches or to remove old outdated version that otherwise conflict with new version add on releases. also remember an add on that is in its BETA stage is possible/likely to come with bugs that will be seen to as they arise etc. contact the owner or related persons to add on to report bugs via add ons web page.
