contests

Im posting here for lack of finding anywhere else. The contest for the laptop /pc brought this question to mind again.  Why are the contests only available to U.S. and not its nieghbor, Canada. Winners are already responsible for all fees related to shipping, so whats a few more miles...

There are legalities with some contests and other countries, we are working on getting more for our friends in Europe, and we've gotten a few recently, but we realize we need to do a better job at it.

I am trying to understand, so, to question part of your comment -"There are legailities with some contests and other countries...."

I was asking about Canada. Things are mailed cross border all the time. I have seen many contests elsewhere that are valid for BOTH countries but none of Curse's have been. So i dont really understand how legalities can affect every contest. Particularly things like computers that between Canada and the States use the same operating systems, are just electronic components and which someone could drive across the border and pay duty to bring back.

BTW, thats wonderful for Europe.

The hardware, language nor distance has anything to do with Canada not being able to participate. It is all about the laws regarding sweepstakes and such. They are more or less different in all countries.
