the date time extentions only changed after i used the blizard repair utility.
when i go to download an addon the blizzard files are in the same folder (Interface.20071213-003906 yes still with the extentions), i can also see addons i attempted to download before in there. it's just when i try to access it anyother way (not downloading something) i can't see the folders.
sorry if i don't sound too clear on the issue it's just weird to me i'd think the folders would just be in there like on my other computer.

I have Vista Ultimate.. didnt have a choice... anyways I cant find the AddOns folder to place addon files into. You have already done instructions for dummies before so would someone please give me a step by step way to find \worldofwarcraft\interface\addons file with Vista TKS I cant even open up wow to view any files looks like this: world of warcraft -actual game world of warcraft manual repair uninstall readme I did a search and found nothing used ever combination I could think of
. . . . .
It sounds to me like you are looking at the Start Menu options which are just short cuts to programs, and files...
In other words, clicking on "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Games" -> "World of Warcraft" just shows links to files on your hard drive. It is NOT the same as "physically" exploring your hard drive to see what folders and files are on it.
You need to open up "Windows Explorer", usually found in the "Start" -> "All Programs" -> "Accessories" menu. Then click on My Computer, and the C: drive, and look for the "World of Warcraft" folder. I think it is in the "Program Files" folder by default.

@whitedoves61
Why are none of your AddOns there after you formatted your computer and re-installed the game ? Because you haven't downloaded and installed them again ? Because you've forgotten to un-zip them properly after downloading them again ? . . . http://wow.curse.com/forums/details/22258/8/#post_100913

@shinigamisam
I'm not certain how the Blizzard repair utility works.
Sounds like it is renaming your old /Interface folder to something else so that the game will ignore it and create a fresh new one the next time you play. Whether it deletes the contents also, or is "Hiding" them.... Have you tried changing the Windows Explorer option to show Hidden files and folders ?
As you are on a Network, are you sure you are downloading to the "local" computer's C: drive, and not to some networked computer's drive ? ;)
Otherwise just download your AddOns in some other folder. They don't need to be downloaded in to your AddOns folder - they only need to be unzipped to your AddOns folder. Try download to your desktop so you can see immediately what's going on?
This is just a download problem you are having yes ? The game folder \Interface\AddOns does actually exist and the game plays ok ?

I have successfully installed several addons. However, I setup a new computer today (Windows Vista) and installed WOW in it. When I attempt to install addons, I find no AddOn folder in the WOW Interface folder. I have created it several times, put my addon files(Unizipped) in it with no results. (When I log in, there is no Addon Button, and the addons are not in the program) I also have attempted to have Curse install the addons both with and without creating the Addon folder in the Interface folder. These installations fail.
Please Help!

this how i do it in 20 small easy steps; 1.got to wow.curse.com 2.find the addon you want 3.click download 4.click choose mirror automaticly 5.click open 6.it will download and appear in a diffrent window as a folder click extract all files 7.it will appeear in a diffrent window , so delete out of the old one 8.go to start menu on you desktop and go to "computer"for vista or "my computer" 9.go to your local disk if you did default download (normmally drive C) 10.go into that and look for program files 11. go into program files and scroll down till you find world of warcraft 12. open that and go to interface 13.then go to addons 14.and all you have todo is drag the addon that is in the diffrent window into the addons area 15.log into WoW and youll see addons click in the top right ignore out of date items 16.select the ones you want (usally all) 17.login and they'll take effect. 18.still having trouble? need a video? heres one : http://youtube.com/watch?v=HORz4U5ot98 19:copy and paste that to your adress bar on the internet(NOT WoW) 20:this is not me! i found this video! WARNING: not all addons will work it is usally the addon that doesnt work if you have some trouble.

I have downloaded Koordinator (very nice coordinates addon), and SW Stats 2.1.4 . Koordinator showed up fine and works great. SW stats does not show up at all. I dL'd and unzipped directly in the wow addons folder. Any ideas or suggestions ? I have re-dl'd SW stats and re-unzipped it in the same way as I did Koordinator but no go. SW stats comes highly recommended so I'd really like to to see it work ;) . Thanks for your input.

For whatever reason, only QuestHelper works with 2.4 for me. None of the other AddOns (Auctioneer, Cartographer, Calendar, Omen) will work. Any idea why?
PS I am running a newer Mac.
