My downloads are going to the interface/addon folder. Add on window pops up, but none of the add ons are there? Vista automatically unzips the files. Any suggestions?

Okay, I've got a backwards question. I had my friend who got me into the game download some addons, and he first go them from a different site. He now is no longer communicating with me over a stupid communcation problem we had, so I'm trying to fix all my out of date Addon problems, and remove at less one addon, that I hate. I was wondering, if I want to clear all my addons, is there any folders in the addon folder I need to keep that Blizzard put in there. I am also keeping Auctioneer, so I don't lose all the previous AH scans I have.
If it's at all any help this is a list of all the folders I have in my addon folder, I don't which one goes with which one. (Which is why I'm trying to start over from almost scratch, so I know what's going on). The folder names are:
!Swatter Auc-Advanced Auc-Filter-Basic Auc-ScanData Auc-Stat-Classic Auc-Stat-Purchased Auc-Stat-Simple Auc-Stat-StdDev Aucstioneer backups BeanCounter Blizzard_AuctionUI Blizzard_BattlefieldMinimap Bliazzard_BindingUI Blizzard_CombatLog Blizzard_CombatText Blizzard_CraftUI Blizzard_GMSurveyUI Blizzard_GuildBankUI Blizzard_InspectUI Blizzard_ItemSocketingUI Blizzard_MacroUI Blizzard_RaidUI Blizzard_TalentUI Blizzard_TradeSkillUI Blizzard_TrainerUI btmScan DHUD2 Enchantrix enchantrix-barker EnhTooltip Informant QuestHelper Stubby

Handfulamistakes - You can safely delete all but the ones starting with blizzard and this will get rid of your current mods, even delete the auctioneer folders as your saved data is saved in another folder called WTF JarheadLMartin - Your WOW folder should be where you installed the game, do a search on the hard drive for wow.exe as this file will be in your wow folder. Vamare - If you dont have the addon button on your screen you havent installed the mods correctly, this is normally because you have either unzipped the addon folder to far or not far enough, when looking at the :programs/worldofwarcraft/interface.addons folder you should see folders for each addon (some have more than one folder), when opening each of these folders you should see files, if you are seeing files in your addon folder you have unzipped ur addons to far, if you are opening each addon folder and seeing another folder(s) with no files until you open this one you have not unzipped the addons far enough

I have exactly this problem.
Have had to switch to my sons pc as my laptop died, and he had no Interface or AddOns folder.
Am not a noob and have used add ons successfully for last two years.
I have created these manually, tried to install downloads both via Zip and manually, the directory reads great, all in the right place, right level of folders etc, but when I log in to WoW, there is no AddOns button showing on the start screen and no add ons in the game?
I have tried the Blizzard repair tool and it can find nothing wrong with my install (even though it is obviously missing the Blizzard add ons - go figure) so don't have a clue.
Am finding it really hard to raid without add ons and could really do with some help.
