Okay so I am new to this website so Im not entirely sure how it works. I tried to download WoW's questhelper. It downloaded successfully, but Im not sure what to do next. When I opened the folder there are 4 other folders in there called
Art
Astrolabe
ChatThrottleLib
Fonts
and then a bunch of documents as well.
I have a Mac so does that have anything to do with it?
Or did I download it properly, but just not using it correctly.

Go to the Questhelper addon page: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/details/9924/

Now, click "Install guide" (it's a tab at the top of the main content area). Follow the instructions. Make sure that you are actually installing them to the C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Interface\Addons folder (or something similar, find out exactly where this folder is on your system).

Then just run WoW and log in to the game!
