I believe this was unintentional and a side effect of the limitations of Community Server. We're going to go back through and fix some things that are missing from the new site which existed on the old site, as Prodigal mentioned above.

We had a tough decision: implement everything on the new site and wait until after WoW 3.0 releases to release it, or finish the core of the site prior to the patch and release it.

We chose the latter simply because we had to. The old website could not support the traffic load of even normal patch days, and 3.0 is not just a normal patch day. With this new website we're confident we can not only weather 3.0's traffic, but we can do so without putting any limitations on the website's usability or function. Time will tell, but we're fairly confident it its stability using this new technology platform.

The video section, as well as some of the profile options such as games will be making a comeback in the next major patch. We had to cut a few features to get the new site out before the WotLK patch. The traffic from that patch would have been too much for the old site to handle.

haha.. well the new page is better than before.. but.. take a look on the js. i'm getting a virus warning from avira antivir:

We're looking into why this is occurring. The js file has standard code, so it shouldn't be triggering AV software. Thanks for the report!

Focused Feedback: New Curse.com Homepage

With the new Curse.com, we've revamped some of the layout of the homepage. You'll quickly notice that many uninteresting modules from the old homepage are no longer present, as well as a few other cosmetic changes. The biggest changes are:

The navigation bar has gone through a weight-loss diet and lost a lot of its bloat. You shouldn't find redundant links or be overwhelmed with links to places that aren't really all that interesting.
The news section is much more prominent now, and includes the following changes:
- Two "featured" Headlines articles including a quick summary of what they're about, and an icon so you can quickly notice which game they're related to.
- A two-column layout with links to the latest news and more.
  - The left column displays the latest MMO news, sorted by post date.
  - The right column contains two modules. The first is a "Top News" module which contains the 5 most viewed recent articles on the website. The second module is called "Other News" and will contain game industry news not specific to MMOs. We'll tell you about the latest hardware advancements, and also update you on interesting non-MMO games here.
We've removed the following modules: "Most Active Games," "Free to Play Games," "Games in Beta" and "Hot Downloads."

Please use this thread to provide feedback on the new homepage, and if you'd like, answer the following questions.

Do you find the new "Curse Network Services" module useful to you?
What are your thoughts on the new layout of the news module?
Is there anything from the current Curse.com homepage that you feel was left out but should be included?
What are your thoughts on the rotating "media box" that displays up to 6 hot MMO stories?
Is the "Latest Images" module useful to you?
What are your thoughts on the "Blogs" module and the information it displays?
Do you find the "Forums" module useful in its current design?
