I absolutely agree with Urbin and THC in that this creates a huge amount of additional hassle for us end-users and a lot of unnecessary site traffic for you as hosts.

The sooner it's fixed the better :)

Also, I'd like to see beta mods (optionally) counted as updates. As it is clicking Download selects the last non-beta version. In some cases this can be a mod that is months old, while a 3 day old beta is present. Perhaps an option in account settings along the lines of "do you wish to beta test mods? Yes/No" could determine how beta's and release versions work in this respect.

Re: Addon Update Times

Well guys, it's cool that you found the reason for this "last updated" issue.

I can second THC's opinion, that the last time a page was modified is not relevant for me, what I really want to see is the last time a new version has been made available.

Especially with patch 3.0.2 hitting us as I type this and most addons on curse still being for interface 2.4.3 instead of 3.0.2 it would be extremely valuable to quickly find those that have been made WotLK/3.0.2 ready. However, my favorites showed almost 50 addons to be modified today (Oct 14 2008) but hardly any of them actually had a new version.

If you can fix this quickly, it would be great, especially since you are now the place to get all the former Ace addons, as well. I expect that you can reduce your load a lot by only showing those addons as updated that actually offer a new version, otherwise millions of addon users will need to come back again and again to check if a new version of their addon of choice has been made available.

Still, despite this, thanks for your good work!

Re: Addon Update Times

As I said it my last post, we fixed the display on the addon detail page, but not on the updated lists. We'll be updating these to reflect the latest file soon.

Re: Addon Update Times

"last updated" is last release of a version atleast thats the only thing that is important to me. i dont need to know if a piece of text is changed. The "Last Update" on the addon page is the last file release. I think we need to have two dates here, Last Update and Last Release. What do you guys think?

Re: Addon Update Times

Sat Oct 11th:

Say I go to the updated addons page and want to see more like i did today at this addy http://wow.curse.com/downloads/Updated.aspx?SectionID=3816 well it will show a addon has been updated even though it is old. Even made sure there was not one for the beta or worlk.
