cant get addons to load ingame

I have a new laptop have used cursr before have dowloaded client and all adds wanted saved to my docs but I cannot get them to load into my wow acct what am I missing?

Can't Uninstall, can't reinstall

Hey,

when i choose "Uninstall" from my System CP, i see a process opening and closing. So no uninstall for me. Additionally there is no Folder in C:\Program Files.

My Starting Curse is saying: Curse Client v4 is not able to update itself to the latest version. The Error is:

Die referenzierte Assembly ist nicht auf dem Computer installiert. (Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x800736B3).

So, i can't uninstall, i cant start.

If i download and want to install curse, it keeps saying:

unable to log into client

I am unable to log into the client to view/update/change any of my addon's. When i attempt to log in i get the following message:

an unknown error occured contacting the server.

I have attempted to uninstall/reinstall the program and couldn't even get it to attempt to load files. I went thru cnet to get the program back.

I have changed my password, made a new account to make sure that wasn't the problem.

I have attempted to run the program as administrator to no avail.

I checked my firewall settings to make sure the program was allowed and even disabled my firewall while trying to log in and nothing helps.

could someone give me a tip or two to see if i can resolve my problem? thanks in advance. I am running windows vista if that provides any insight.

Cannot Uninstall

The runes of magic database addon isn't being updated or supported anymore so I want to uninstall the curse client (v4). I removed the app via "Add or Remove Programs" and that seemed to work just fine. The problem is that now when I startup my computer I get prompted to reinstall the curse client.. what is that all about?

How can I stop this prompt?

The prompt says the app will come from clientupdate.curse.com

Popularity in v4?

I noticed that the popularity of my addon in version 4 of the Curse Client is different from any numbers on the website. Is the Curse client using its own popularity system? How is the popularity being measured on the client?

Cant choose install directory

After reading another post and deleting the 2.0 folder in %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Apps because of another problem I now get the following error when launching the v4 client when it tries to open the release notes. The app crashes and never opens. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thx.

Where did unidentified addons go in v4?

I just upgraded my windows client from v3 to v4, and one thing I'm not seeing in the new client is a place to see all "unidentified" addons. Am I overlooking this, or has that feature been removed? I used to find this handy, because I have a handfull of addons that are not recognized by curse, but it was nice to remind myself which ones those were so I could have a list of ones I know I have to update manually.

I do notice that a couple of the previously "unidentified" addons are now listed on the main page (carbonite, lightheaded) and when you try to update them, it redirects you to another site, but there are a couple of the previously unidentified addons that seem to be missing entirely (Event Horizon, CT_Viewport).

CurseClientv4 without Desktop-Icon?

Hi,

I'm using Windows7 Prof and like my Desktop clean. So I use a Dock Application to mange the Shortcuts to the most common programs I use. It seems to be impossible to start the new CurseClient without having the AppRef on my Desktop. Is there a way to move to another location, e.g. d:\Curse\ instead of my Desktop?

Sorry if this is a double post, checked the last sites of this forum and couldn't find a thread about it.

Addons Uninstalling

Each time I boot my computer and log into WoW none of my addons come up. Each time I go back to my curse client every addon haves the triangle sign beside it and it says that each addon had been modified and no longer matches our database. So I have to reinstall each addon. What the heck is going on?

okay so i downloaded everything and it was working until i tried to add a game then no matter what i put in for the path it kept telling that it was either invorrect or does not exist. please help.

Addons missing after Windows 7 install (only ones managed by Curse)

I did a clean install of Windows 7 on a new drive. My old drive, with Vista and the WoW install, was left intact. WoW is installed in Users/Public/Games. WoW started up fine and remembered my settings but the only addons it knew about were the ones that weren't managed by the Curse client. I looked at the permissions of an addon it recognized and one it didn't and couldn't see a difference. The only way I could fix the problem wsa to reinstall each addon from the Curse client. So the Curse client is doing something to these directories that cause them to not be recognized by WoW when accessed from a different OS than originally created them.

The fun thing I have noticed about Curse Client v4 it likes to overwrite my firewall rules to give me the lovely ads, I don't mind the ads myself but what I do mind is an application overwriting my global blocks to give me them. TBH this is more like malware behaviour, if I decide to block IP's I don't think you should make your program bypass them for your own gain. Everytime I run the damn thing I have to add all my rules again.

I would like a dev to add thier thoughts on this behaviour

Curse Client Installation Issues

Hi,

After some assistance please. I originally had V3.x of the curse client installed and decided to upgrade to V4 beta (i was on this already about a month or two back, but for some odd reason the client reverted to the old version automatically, dont ask me why, but its not the issue at hand but i just left it as that)

I came to re-install the V4.x of the client only to discover the link i used (googled) was for the curse staff only, so i promptly removed this and downloaded the correct file.

Now when i try to install either v3.x or v4.0.16 the installer goes fine through the .net installation component but i'm then presented with the "Launching Application" box containing the "Verifying application requirements. This may take a few moments" comment.

Immediately after this i receive a popup with "Application activation is not possible" "Click on the application desktop icon or select it from the start menu" and when i click OK, the installation stops.

Now all references to any previous installations have been removed, i cleaned out the registry entries, and the folder structure and menu items no longer exist. Basically there is no curse client reference on my pc, from what i know (i have even run Ccleaner's registry scan to remove any unlinked entries)

I'm at a loss with this, and wondered if anyone could shed any light onto this.

client not working

So today curse client was not working, it was trying to update it's self but it did not work and then did not want to run at all. So i uninstalled it and tried to re install it and now that's not working >< I keep getting a window popping up saying it did not install right. So any help would be great : ) if you need any info just ask.

Anyone know what the correct path is, or the required exe file name for Curse?
