Have backgrounds to create a neat interface, is it possible?

Hello everyone,

I was wondering, is it possible to download a background addon to make a correct clean interface ? I've seen a lot of screenshots with this type of big band on the bottom of the screen where all the buttons and stuff are placed.

Thanks for your help !

the "band" at the bottom of the screen is created by an addon that can change the viewport of the game. Skinner (and i believe eepanels) can do this.

hi,

thanks for your reply ! I have skinner, I just checked and you are right ! I changed the new view port resolution and I got a very weird graphical lag, like smooth then brutally slow and then smooth etc, it looked like WoW was a broken video tape oO ! Got any idea why I got that ? (It was not a normal FPS count drop)
Thanks for your time and help !

i'm pretty sure you don't want to mess with the viewport resolution...you want to modify the values for the ViewPort Bottom field. I usually keep mine at about 200, which gives me plenty of room for action bars, minimap, rep tracking, chat logs, etc.

also i keep my ViewPort Top, Left, and Right values at 0.

give it a shot, hope it works.

PS: you might need to reset your skinner settings to default to fix the resolution thing first.

You can also download bartender3, cycircled, and eepanels and customize your bars, and make your own panels

CT also put out a good viewport addon called CT_Viewport. I used to use it prior to fully going over to skinner and cass art. CT_Viewport is probably the most user friendly of the letter boxing style mods.

since the subject of your post is about creating a "neat interface", and i'll admit i'm taking "neat" to mean un-cluttered, and organized, lined up, etc...as opposed to neat meaning "cool"...

Align allows you to load a configurable grid onto your screen, making lining up addons MUCH easier than doing it by eye...some people are nit-picky enough about that sort of thing to really appreciate the simplicity and utility of this addon...

it might not be specifically related to the OP, but someone else looking for answers might stumble into this thread looking for something more like Align than Skinner.
