Following up on the Trinity announcement from last week, CCP has released some new information about the upcoming expansion. Oh, yeah, they released some screenshots too - to show off just what this new engine does to the ships in the game. It's really easy to tell, just from looking at the before and after images, that CCP can do a whole lot more with this DX9 engine than was previously possible.
The detail differences between the two are stunning. It's glaringly obvious that they put in a lot of work remodeling these ships to take advantage of DX9. If this is any indicator of where EVE Online is heading, then the DX10 engine should be that much sweeter.
