Job Description

SUMMARY:

Curse Inc. is seeking a User Experience Intern to be a part of the largest MMO property worldwide. Reporting to the Product Manager, you will be working and collaborating on projects with a small but experienced team of designers and developers. This position will be responsible for taking the lead on usability testing and working with the development team on a day-to-day basis to ensure that the design vision is maintained. You will also have a chance to help in the feature design.

Candidates must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and knowledgeable of online games. A background in graphic design is a major plus. This is a paid internship position. Local applicants only!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct usability testing and collect user feedback
• Collaborate with team members to design features for products and services, responding to usability testing results
• Create project deliverables, detailing proposed solutions through flowcharts, wireframes, sitemaps, navigational summaries and prototypes
• Work with developers and other team members to ensure proposed designs are technically feasible
• Ensure that all copy (including navigation, button and field labels) is clear, concise and user-friendly
• Writes guides to improve feature usability

SKILLS:

• Excellent analytical, organizational, collaboration, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills.
• Practical experience in design tools such as Expression Studio, Photoshop or willingness to learn
• Ability to contribute to a team environment; able to receive feedback and work designs iteratively
• A passion for online games
• Graphic design skill is a major plus for this position

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Experience playing online games – especially World of Warcraft and other MMOs
• Experience participating in user research and usability testing (optional)
