About Dovahkiin Hideout

This adds a very large basement connecting all houses in the game. You can enter the Hideout from any house in the game by opening the hatch found on in your house.

    Well, it was a great mod while it lasted. I updated it for the first time in three months today to find that everything I had put in the hideout. Looks like I'm starting from scratch without your mod. Thanks.

    Installer sais installed successfully, yet curse client sais installation failed and I cant enter the hideout. If I try to do it manually the door wont show up for me either.

    How to fix this one?

    I cannot use davokiim Hideout anymore- logged in the entracens are there, but say that I need a key to enter the hideout (in houses which I have the key for) also the addon is no longer showing up in curse client and when I try to install, the install fails due to an error. Please help!

    I have 3 seperate games ive had corrupted and the common link is once i get lvled into teh teens. I go into the hideout and then if i save or try to leave the game crashes and all subsequent saved games are all corrupted hence forth.

    I'd like to translate Dovahkiin Hideout for Brazilian Portuguese, but ...
    How to open the files .esm and .esp for editing?
    Of course I would send the translated files for your use!

    In time, I participated in GameVicio team that translated the TES Skyrim for our language.

    Hey Shawkab,

    Great mod. I love the number of mannequins and weapon racks available available for displaying my hard won loots, and also the convenience of the crafting stations.

    One possible bug. With the mod enabled I cannot get training from the alchemist in Whiterun. When I click on the training option Arcadia's response "I think I can teach you a thing or two" briefly flashes up then it goes back to the normal speech menu. I have not noticed any other trainers effected this way, though I have not tried them all.

    great mod, thank you.  :) 

    I do have an issue, though, and it may be you have posted in regards to this elsewhere:  when exiting/entering the Hideout in Breezehome, the game shuts down.  Just like that.  I can re-start it and load it right back up, but I'd rather exit the Hideout only, rather than the entire game.  :)

    Any suggestions?

    I have the same problem. You cant exit or save or the game crashes, so pretty much that whole character line is corrupted

    hi y'all , i just want to be 100% sure ...i'v heard that if you istall it all your stored items gets deleted ...but i dont know if that only if you transform it from Nexus , so be4 i make a move i wanna be 100% .

    As I understand it, as long as the type of mod file you're updating doesn't change (i.e. ESP->ESP, or ESM->ESM), then you shouldn't have to move your items. I can't verify, as I've only ever used the Nexus and Curse versions (curse files being the same as the Nexus files). I believe the hangup usually comes with changing over to the Steam version.

    Either way, just make sure you have a good save file (i.e. NOT a quicksave) with all your stuff, and you keep a copy of the mod files you're currently using. Then update. If your items no longer show up, simply revert back to the mod file you were originally using and load the good save.

    Shawk's said it many times, your items are stored in your save files. There's nothing about his mod (or any mod) that changes where they are or removes them. But switching between mod file types (as I understand it) effectively changes the set of chests in the Hideout, so instead of seeing the chests that contain your items (which still exist, but are not displayed anywhere), you are seeing a completely different set of chests (for which your save file has no data).

    I will attempt to make an analogy. Think of it like this, in the mod file you are using (say the ESP), all the chests are colored red. Now pretend you are colorblind. You put all your stuff in the red chests. Then you save, quit out, change the mod file type (to ESM). This is akin to someone (in-game) moving all your [full] red chests to an invisible closet and replacing them with empty blue chests. All your stuff is still in those red chests, you just can't see them. Since you are colorblind the new blue chests look exactly the same, but don't have your stuff in them. So you put a few worthless things in the new blue chests, make a new save (one that does NOT overwrite the first save), quit out, and swap the mod file back to the ESP. What you've done now is throw those blue chests into the invisible closet, and replace them with the red chests again. So your few worthless items in the blue chests are now inaccessible, but all your original stuff in the red chests are back in their place.

    It's possible I'm a little off on the details, concerning the file types, whether different versions matter, etc. But that's the idea. So long as you don't overwrite the save that originally had all of your stuff, then it's always there. It just may not be visible, depending on which containers the mod tells your game to show you. Hopefully that at least calms someone's nerves, knowing that their stuff is still around somewhere, even if it doesn't exactly help them figure out how to bring it back. Bottom line is, always have a good save with all your stuff before attempting any changes, and don't overwrite that save (which is why I don't recommend using a quicksave because it's far too easy to accidentally overwrite). When making major mod changes I always manually save using the console with a command like (~ save before_newhideout).
