Two exciting announcements have been made by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences today: The induction of Epic Games' Tim Sweeney to its Hall of Fame, and D.I.C.E. (Design, Innovate, Communicate, and Entertain) keynote speaker, Activison Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg.

Tim Sweeney is the founder and CEO of Epic Games, and will be the 16th inductee into the AIAS Hall of Fame. He will be taking the stage for the first time at the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit. The AIAS Hall of Fame is reserved for legendary game creators who have been instrumental in the development and forward progress of highly influential games. Sweeney's development of the Unreal Engine, and series such as Gears of War and Unreal Tournament, has deeply driven the evolution of gaming worldwide. |

As CEO of Activision Publishing, a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, Eric Hirshberg oversees operational management including its studio, product development functions, and consumer marketing activities. Under his previous 13 years of experience as co-chief executive officer and chief creative officer at Deutsch LA, the firm built a reputation for achieving amazing results with noteworthy multimedia creative campaigns that have been often adopted into popular culture. Hirshberg will be the Friday keynote speaker at the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit at the Red Rock Resort in Las Vegas on February 10, 2012. |
