One of the most powerful names in mobile technologies is Qualcomm and the companies Snapdragon line of mobile CPU's has been revolutionizing the mobile scene for the past few years. The Snapdragon has been used in everything from Google's revolutionary Nexus One back in 2010 to the Samsung Galaxy S II.
Qualcomm unveiled a great new lineup of mobile games coming to Snapdragon-powered mobile devices running Google's Android operating system at Game Developer Conference in San Franscisco this week. One of those games, Reign of Amira, is featured above. Reign of Amira is the perfect game to showcase the gorgeous capabilities of Qualcomm's Snapdragon powerhouse but more than that, it's an awesome mobile game. In the game, Princess Amira battles all comers to regain the lost glory of the Desert Kingdom.
Additionally, Qualcomm also unveiled:
- The Reem - A mixed martial arts (MMA) game being developed by Khaeon. So named for its featuring of UFC fighter Alistair Overeem, the Reem is set to launch in April as a Snapdragon-exclusive for one year.
- The Ball - This has actually been available on PC for some time, gaining a suitable fan base to merit a mobile version of the game. Being developed by Tripwire Interactive, the team behind Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad, The Ball is a puzzle game in which players must solve puzzles using a physics-driven ball.
- Virtua Tennis Challenge - Developed by the legends at SEGA, this is the first mobile version of the popular Virtua Tennis console gaming series. Optimized for the Xperia PLAY, a Snapdragon-powered device designed in conjunction with Sony and the PlayStation team, Virtua Tennis Challenge will release next month.
