Allods Online, voted Best Game 2009 and Audience Choice at the Russian Game Developers Conference in 2009, is now officially live after launching into Open Beta on February 16th, 2010!

The game has arrived after extensive Closed Beta testing and enables players to jump into a world torn asunder by the Great Cataclysm where they may experience a plethora of story-driven content involving two warring factions: the League and the Empire.

With eight archetypes, twenty-eight classes, and six unique races to choose from, you can only imagine how much customization is available when you add in the incredibly rich crafting and profession systems.

The game boasts unbelievably robust ship-to-ship combat within the Astral, the destructive energy which tore apart the planet Sarnaut. The Astral is an ever changing environment, shifting at random intervals, and moving the allods, or islands, that are perched within. Players and their fellow crew-mates traverse the Astral to explore its richness and battle demons as well as enemy ships along the way. Traveling safely through the Astral is no small feat; steering and defending a ship will require the coordination of multiple players in various roles, from Captain and Helmsman to Gunner and, Engineer.

There are also plenty of opportunities for players to participate in PvP outside of the Astral, including contested zones such as the Holy Lands and the special free-for-all arenas! Taking part in PvP will offer great rewards through the Combat Glory system. Players will be allowed to unlock elite armor sets and weapons by gaining ranks based on their PvP performance.

If PvE is more your forte, Allods Online features a vast and gorgeously realized world where you can complete over 2,000 quests and also take part in community events. Allods’ rich gameplay features full motion capture animation, art by internationally award-winning artists, and a soundtrack by Mark Morgan, the composer of Dexter and Fallout 1 & 2.

Whether you want to take part in the game's immersive lore, conquer content in the Astral aboard a massive ship, or travel the contested lands of Sarnaut, there is a wealth of features and countless hours of great gameplay to be had in Allods Online.

Nah its not a bad copy of wow.. I played it, the graphics are actually the same or even better.. the story is good =) it just needs a development.. when wow first released it was 100x worse than this.. and it even needs more skill to play.. well I advice ya to try it.. its pretty hard but interesting to play.. got bored of wow =P

It's very much like wow, but the gold spammer spam is killing it... it's a gorgeously done game, but I'd say it tries too hard to be a wow clone, where as say Runes of Magic is different enough to make it fresher.

It amazes me that nothing can ever be released that is not compared to WoW. WoW is not the end and and be all of the gaming world. If it was so perfect, everyone would be playing it. It caters to a certain type of player as this one to other types. It is not a WoW clone or wanna be. It is nothing at all like WoW and if you actually played it, it is way more of a challenge if you are into this sort of thing.I tested it in both closed and open beta and although it is not my cup of tea, it is still a good game.

I totally understand what you mean DeathStaRx. It's not amazing that people do that. Just kinda sad really. The least you WoWtards could do is try it first seeing as it's free.
