This Week at the Battle.net Blog

Happy Thursday, Curse fans! It's almost the weekend, and we wanted to take some time and go over some of the shenanigans the Blizzard crew has been up to over the week.  Some articles have hit the Battle.net blog, covering a range of topics which are sure to hit the right note with most folks:

  • Developer Watercooler: Encounter Tuning by WatcherLead encounter designer Ion “Watcher” Hazzikostas sheds some light on an aspect of design that may unfortunately seem inscrutable or even arbitrary: how and when the team makes adjustments to raid encounters once they’re on the live servers.
  • PvP Gear in 5.2 and BeyondChange is coming to PvP gear in the relatively near future, and the team wants to provide a not-so-brief update on the improvements they're planning, while pulling the curtain aside a bit so you can see the thought processes that motivated the coming changes.
  • PTR Patch 5.2 Notes – Updated January 17These notes remain a work in-progress, but they've made significant updates last night (and again today) to keep people apprised of progress on Patch 5.2. New tasty morsels definitely dwell within, so dig in at your delight!
  • University Relations Live Q&A Next ThursdayFor students looking to break into the gaming industry, they're holding a live chat next Thursday with their University Relations team on the official Blizzard game sites. They’ll be fielding questions from how to build a portfolio, to what it’s like to work at Blizzard, what qualifications they look for, and even how to best approach the internship program (submissions close January 31!)
Hopefully you find above a topic that suits you! We also have a recent video up from the Curse team covering some recent Blizzard items:

MMO-Champion has a contest for your mount needs, a World of Warcraft theme park breaks all of the rules, Starcraft players will get a free name change, and Diablo 3 is finally getting its first taste of PvP. Head here to be informed!

For everything to do with World of Warcraft, drop by MMO-Champion and WoWDBDiabloFans and the Diablo Wiki can also cover you on Diablo 3 news, community, information, and more!
