Nexon is getting set to kick off one of the most anticipated events in FPS gaming, with the Spiders vs Scorpions event in Combat Arms.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Combat Arms is one of the most popular online free-to-play shooters around. It paved the way for other free to play games in the FPS space way back in 2008 and continues to be a leader in that market today. Combat Arms boasts addictive multiplayer action with a great arsenal of weapons and fast-paced gameplay. Couple that with a user-base of over 6 million players and you have a recipe for a pretty fantastic multiplayer experience.

Starting mid-June, Nexon is going to unleash this event on the Combat Arms community and we can't wait to be a part of it. Splitting the entire Combat Arms community in half, players have the choice of joining the Spiders or the Scorpions. After factions have been chosen, both sides will battle through four week-long rounds starting on June 16th. Spiders will battle the Scorpions to see which faction is the most dominant, with the best spoils going to the winning faction. Everyone will earn rewards during the event, but the winning faction will earn the best loot.
“This is a huge event for fans of online FPS’ fans in North America,” said Combat Arms producer Christina Lee. “We have the most guns, a huge player base and a wide variety of game modes and maps for players to commit to all-out war. We’ll have some great prizes for the winners, but the best prize will be bragging rights.”
Back in 2010, Nexon held a Spiders vs Scorpions event and it was a massive success. Over the course of the event, Spiders and Scorpions faced off in 3.3 million matches with over 192 million kills registered (110 million of which were via headshots)! 2.7 Billion Experience Points were earned in 2010 and undoubtedly even more will be gained this time around.
