A cool thing about the internet that has been happening in the past few years is easy to use syndication. Whether you are using RSS or Atom, or a simple REST or SOAP application there has always been great use for it.
Today we are proud to present the early stages of some of our database syndication. While it's very basic, it lets you embed a tooltip for an item or spell in World of Warcraft, or an item in Vanguard on your website, or any site which allows you to use JavaScript.
You should begin seeing a "Share with HTML" box below the mentioned sections above which has copy and paste code to easily insert the data from our live database and show it on your website.
As always, suggestions and criticism is welcome, and feel free to throw your site in the comments where you begin using this code.
Ashbringer (World of Warcraft) Embed Code:
{{{ <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www-en.curse-gaming.com/feeds/tooltips/1/13262/tooltip.js"> </script>
}}}

I'd love to see the mouseover tooltip with a link :)
That would be utterly awesome :)
yea the second number after the :: is what i was asking myself too what could it be :)
I could do that one Sexie.. if I can figure out what the numbers mean :)
when ?
would be nice too if you supplies us the actual ingame link form. <item=1322251:1050540346::0:0:1:>Knotted Wood Weapon Upgrade Recipe</link>
We will be expanding it to allow at least two other methods for delivery: 1. A text link with the mouseover tooltip 2. An image link with the mouseover tooltip
Yea, its a generated image (the xfire thing)
Yeah, don't support the most used browser!
Some desirable configurable options in the script's URL could include -
1. Items' backpack icon 2. Mouseover vs. no mouseover 3. Model
Not sure whether this info is possible, since I can't see this kind of info
That is a generated image though I believe? Correct me if I'm wrong
Actual plug-ins might be a pain for forum admins to install to their forums... if you could somehow do something similar to xfire's "most time spent on a game" thing, often seen in signatures, it would be used alot more (imo).
I also agree with sibbor, although this would be nice, I can prob build a IPB mod around it and make a whole mod that can search and link via forums for guild forums, real forums so on to run off of, ill play with it a little :)
We will be releasing plugins for various forum software to allow their users to have easy access to insert references to things on our database.
While I do agree with Sibbor in the fact that currently implemented features should be fixed first (Like your RSS feed having duplicate posts, or is that just me?), I can't advocate the updating of this site to support IE7. The required time and effort is just stupid imo.
About the actual item-on-your-page bit... It would be nice to be able for people to post items in their blogs showing items they got... other than that I don't see any use for it YET. It's presented nicely I'll give you that.
there is no way to post this on the most fan sites out there
they do not permit scripting on the page/post

A couple of examples (I still have a bug, on my blog css, with the images for the VG item)
